My 9 year old son, his dad and I stayed at Barrington Hideaway and had a lovely time. We greatly enjoyed spending time on the deck watching all the birds and exploring the river. The countryside around Gloucester is beautiful and we found that the accommodation and town had everything we needed for a comfy and relaxing stay.

These cabins are fantastic for a family with young children (toddler), as they are clean, well stocked and don't have loads of knick-nacks to keep out of reach. The balcony is an awesome place to hang out and enjoy a meal and watch the wrens, the sun streamed in so even in mid winter we were in t shirts. Gloucester is a great town with a great playground and cafes etc, and it's great to be so close to drive up to explore the mountains and return to a comfy cabin with great heating. The location was a bit different than what we had expected but rereading the listing it does mention they're on a farm and it's surrounded by other farms, rather than bush. The cabins overlook the river which is pretty, the walk to get down there was maybe a little steep for the toddler to walk but a short drive away we found some really easy to access parts of the river.
