I could probably write an essay about how brilliant Murdoch’s place is. The location is incredible, with beautiful walks, and nature nearby. We swam, saw otters, took the ferry to Skye and had the most amazing time. The house itself is perfect for what we needed it for, has a brilliantly equipped kitchen where we cooked some great meals and has a really nice rustic cosy feel. It’s within 5 minute walking distance of what we would describe as one of the best pubs we’ve ever been too! Visited a few times throughout the week for drinks and also for food, (which was outstanding). The village shop is fantastic for a top up shop- but would definitely do a big shop in fort William before arriving. Overall couldn’t recommend this place enough! Great communication from Murdoch too about the property and surrounding areas. We’ll definitely be back!

We had the most wonderful holiday at Bac na bearn. The house is exactly how Murdoch describes it; if you're looking for soulless, pristine, boutique accommodation this is probably not the place for you, but if you're looking for a warm and cosy well loved home in the most beautiful setting then this is the place. Murdoch is so helpful at all stages of the booking and during the holiday, and we cannot thank him enough for that. Before going to a new destination, you have a mental image of what awaits you, and Bacnabearn and Glenelg far exceeded this. I could wax lyrical about our holiday, but I think the best way of putting it is that we will return next year as we loved it that much. Again, there are so many places to see within easy travelling distance - in my mind that means around 90 minutes - but we found the immediate environs captivated us for the majority of the week. Thank you so much for such a wonderful holiday Murdoch, and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Like Murdoch says in his description of the house, don't expect the Hilton. It's a traditional Scottish House with no frills and we loved it. It has everything you need for a break away. It's clean, warm, comfortable and homely. Murdoch is a lovely and responsive host who contacted us to give us a warm welcome and was happy to be contacted with any queries. The area is amazing with lovely walks and amazing scenery but you definitely need transport to get to busier places as Glenelg is tucked away several miles from the nearest town. Glenelg Inn is a short walk away from Murdoch's place and is dog and people friendly, we were always given a warm welcome and the food is delicious. If you're a TV addict, be warned that when it's windy weather the signal for freesat is not good but if you prefer to be away from the hustle, bustle and stress of life Murdoch's place is ideal.

Our second visit to Murdoch’s place, really enjoyed it! Amazing location with beautiful views. Sits in a friendly village with a great pub/restaurant and a shop with all the basics, walking distance from the house. Host is really friendly, responsive and communicates clearly. Thanks Murdoch!
