Caroline is the BEST!! If you want a relaxing and enjoyable experience and stay, she is definitely the place to stay at.
Having just left Caroline’s little haven, we can say that it was really difficult to leave. Caroline provided us with such high quality care, which included her providing us coffee before breakfast every morning, a delicious home made breakfast, gorgeous, healthy evening meals (seriously- opt for one of her home cooked evening meals if you can- One of the evenings we did a BBQ and she really kindly provided some delicious potatoes, salad and meat for us), lovely chats, lifts to and from the bus and trains (and to the winery!), lovely chats, and even a trip to see her neighbour’s kittens! We tend to find switching off quite difficult, but Caroline’s space proved to be a little haven of tranquility where we could listen to birdsong, cicadas and other animals and let our minds relax. We will 100% be back! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. :)
Beautiful gem of an oasis in central Bulgaria. Perfect place to unwind and let your spirits free. Caroline is just the perfect host and treats you with treasures from her own garden! Will try to come back!
This is a lovely quiet and peaceful place. Great to relax and chill out. We loved the artistic approach to the lodge and the pretty garden. The lodge is in the traditional Bulgarian style. The whole place is at one with nature. The chickens and Cockerels dogs and cats help you relax. We loved the sound of the birds and insects, it took me back to childhood holidays. Caroline is thoughtful and caring. We enjoyed long chats about art and design. We even spent time in the garden drawing flowers. She is a great cook. We had some delightful Bulgarian dishes. The whole place is delightful and probably unique. We had a great time.
Caroline is a charming host and she made us feel at home. she was very willing to help with advice and recommendations.The lodge is private and set in a pretty, shaded garden along side a summer kitchen where we had a lovely breakfast. We went to the area for a specific reason ( a friend's party) so we can't really comment on the area as such. Plovidiv, with its lovely historical old town is about 45 mins away.

自我介绍
I am a visual artist who has been visiting Bulgaria and and in particular Rupkite village for the last twenty years before settling here more permanently in 2012. There is a short film called Elemental Caroline Harte on you tube that gives an insight to me and my work here. I have always been inspired by the land, the animals and the people here and feel the need to be very connected to nature on a daily basis as it plays a huge influence on me and my art work. I can't think of anything better than to share the experiences here in Rupkite with others.
