Hello, We just left the house at St Gemme this morning The house was beautiful and we had a great time there. We were lucky enough to have great weather all week long.Unfortunately, that was tarnished by the people who were there waiting for us to give us the key on the first day. We arrived from NY thru Paris and Bordeaux on a Monday. We were at the place at 3.40 PM that afternoon. The check in was at 4PM. The manager of the house came few minutes late which was okay with us even after an 18 hours trip. The morning after, without telling us, a very nice man in charge of the maintenance of the pool showed up at the property to work on the pool and explained me that the pool had a big problem because according to him the level was really low and we were supposed to fill it up to a certain level for not damaging the pump which we did for few days in a row. At the same time, there was a very strong smell in the kitchen next to the dishwasher. Something was rotting or decomposing behind the fridge or under the cabinets. We tried to find it but couldn’t. I called the manager of the house the same evening and left her a message about these two things(pool and smell).She didn’t returned my call. I called her again the day after and explained her what were the problems. And that was it.She never called me back to find out about the pool or the smell in the kitchen for the entire week. But the best was yet to come. On our last day, the manager and her horrible husband came at 10.30AM and started cleaning the place. After 5 minutes, he came on to my wife with the worst attitude and started shouting at her that the check out time was 10AM and that they wouldn’t have enough time to clean the house because the next guests were coming in at 3PM ( We were completely ready to go at that time).He told my wife that the 10AM check out was written in The contract.( He was actually wrong because the check out time on the contract was 11AM). I actually confronted him with the contract and all the details about the check in check out times. He didn’t seem interested and didn’t even apologized to my wife or me to put such a stupid show. As planned, we left the house at 11.06AM. They didn’t even come out to say bye or asked us how the week was. A truly despicable man. It’s really sad that we had to leave the property on such a bad note. Het is een oud huis in een mooi gebied. Wel wat afgelegen. Het zwembad is goed en werd goed onderhouden. De voorzieningen zijn goed, genoeg badkamers en ijskasten. Wij hadden er een fijne tijd.

Our trip to Maison Gautier was wonderful. Marina our host was friendly and communicative from the very beginning, answering questions promptly and being completely open. The property was fabulous, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The three families that stayed all had a wonderful time. It felt as though we were staying in a friends house not an AirBnB. Thank you Marina and the Nimmo family for allowing us to share your home.

All you need to know about Maison Gauthier is that there are FOUR fridges! In no way is this a rental property where the landlord has cut costs to save money, this is a beautiful home that is furnished, decorated and designed to ensure maximum relaxation and joy. The house is actually larger than you'd think, the views are calming, and the grounds are immaculate. My wife was so proud showing off the interior design to our guests, my son loved tearing round the garden naked, and I particularly enjoyed sipping wine next to the sunflowers and vines. Marina and Piers seem lovely and certainly do their utmost to ensure you have a truly memorable time, and I am more than grateful to them for letting us stay in their fabulous family home.

La maison de Marina est idéalement située dans les lignes et les tournesols, dans un endroit calme et reculé. Nous avons profité de la vue depuis la piscine chauffée. S'y tenir à plusieurs n'est pas un problème car de nombreuses chambres sont équipées d'une salle de bain très confortable. La déco anglaise est chaleureuse. Tous les équipements sont disponibles à la cuisine et dans les salle de bain. On se sent comme à la maison. Merci pour le séjour !
