The hiking around Appenzel is amazing and Hans & Hildegard’s apartment provides a great location for a base point; train station, restaurants, grocery stores, bakery, charming shops are all within a short walk. Hans was again very welcoming at the train station on our second stay with him. He is a very kind and attentive host who will address the smallest of need.

The apartment is in an ideal location in Appenzell; close to the train (5 minute walk), restaurants and shopping. The kitchen was well stocked and extremely clean as was the rest of the apartment. Hans provided us with the free tourist card and told us how to apply for free transport to and from Appenzell which saved us a lot of money. We went to Appenzell for the hiking and were not disappointed. The Appenzell area is beautiful. We highly recommend staying here.
