This antique house is so interesting. The art, furnishings, and literature are so colorful. The building still has a lot of the original elements like the claw foot tubs and built in cabinets. The restoration was done without wiping out the history of the place. This home has a richness that feels mysterious and magical. The location couldn’t be better. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do even though there were those in our party who are not big hikers. All the restaurants and shops are literally right around the corner. We highly recommend that you stay here.
This house is stunning. We couldn't have had a better stay. The hosts are lovely and extremely responsive and helpful. The house is on a beautiful block in the heart of Bar Harbor, so all of the restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance. Acadia hikes are just a short drive away. Every detail of the house feels unique and charming. There's plenty of room for a large group, with a lot of common spaces. It was a great place to relax and feel at home.
We had a lovely stay at Kay & Augusto's house. It offers lovely outdoor areas, different gathering areas and dining areas. It is well stocked with kitchen needs, games and bed/bath linens. It is in a great location to explore Bar Harbor, we walked everywhere and a quick drive to Acadia. It is an old home so expect some creaking floors and older latches but it is part of the charm. Kay & Augusto were easy to communicate with and responded promptly to questions. It is a big house and handles a big gathering well. If you have a large group it is a great place to stay for your family/friend vacation.
We ADORED our stay at Kay and Augusto’s lovely home. Beautiful house with everything we needed and more. We walked to every restaurant (and there were many great ones) and enjoyed the town and hiking in Acadia immensely! Highly recommend!!

I am an architect (as is my husband), dividing my time between Mount Desert Island, Maine, where we have an architectural firm and Santa Catarina, Brazil, where we escape the cold. We are a family of 6, our oldest son was born in Barcelona, where we used to live, and lives in Madrid; the next son Studies in Glasgow and we like to travel every chance we get because life is short and there is so much to get to know about the world! When we travel, we like to be relaxed, walk a lot, see beautiful things, and try nice food and wine. We like to stay at places that say something about the place they are in, are stylish but comfortable. Our children (16-28) are well traveled and behaved when traveling with us, but we are often exploring alone between family trips these days! We presently have five properties we host on airbnb and are very excited to share our special places with our guests! We have used airbnb all over the world and love stepping into someone else's context to help us better understand the place we are visiting! We also love the stories of the people who live in our home for life's memorable moments!
