Come visit our lovely organic orchard! These colorful, apartments above our cider building are listed as Cider House East & Cider House West. They're spacious with a large kitchen and bathroom. Rest, relax, hike our hill, and enjoy nearby state parks, lakes, ponds, the ocean or river & a string of lovely seaside towns with great cuisine and shopping. PLEASE use our web site directions rather than GPS, as GPS often takes people to an old, impassable part of Masalin Road. Please drive slowly (25) on Masalin Road and on our quarter mile driveway, for the sake of neighbors, their pets and deer and other wildlife. Also Bob maintains our road by hand! There is no public transportation in this part of Maine, sorry to say. The apartment has a large kitchen leading into the living room, a bedroom with a queen bed and closet, a bathroom with full tub and shower and a queen fold-out couch in living room. The fold-out couch, though new, is not exceedingly comfortable, even with a foam topper. Most guests with an infant or child have them sleep in a portacrib or pack and play, or for an older child, simply on the couch. The front deck looks up our blueberry hill and the living room and bedroom look down over the orchard and Camden Hills. This is a quiet farm situated on 46 acres with views of the Camden Hills. If guests hike up our blueberry hill ( a 20 minute walk) they can see over the Camden Hills to the sea, all the way to Acadia, and from the top of the hill looking back, the hills of Western Maine.

This is the most well equipped, clean, peaceful airbnb we’ve ever been to with the kindest, most generous hosts. We started our mornings listening to/looking for birds—northern flickers, wild turkeys, eastern towhees, phoebes, warblers, and more. One of us has slept very poorly for years but at Sewall Orchard was rising at 6:15am feeling good and ready to go. The apartment had everything we could need, with plenty of space to organize our belongings. It’s has a full, well outfitted kitchen—even a blender! The bed is comfortable. It was a great, peaceful landing place for our explorations around the area. It was neat to see the goings on at the farm too and take a walk down the driveway in the evening. Bob and Mia are also the sweetest hosts we’ve ever met on our travels around Maine. We will be back for sure!

Staying at Bob & Mia’s place was wonderful. The apartment was very clean and well maintained, and Bob & Mia were very responsive and friendly, and added a bunch of nice personal touches to make the space lovely for us.

The Cider House is a neat setup - you drive through a beautiful orchard, trees on both sides of a long private gravel road, past the hosts' house on the left, up a hill, then the Cider House and another building share a sort of parking lot. You enter the second floor of the Cider House and pick the door either to the right or left depending on if you are in east or west. The first floor below is a real cidery working space. It's nice to have such an expansive kitchen and common area even when traveling as a couple! And the hosts' cider is indeed tasty. :-)

Bob and Mia are great hosts. You can count on their clear and helpful communication. They are also very warm and welcoming. The orchard’s location is idyllic. Situated on a hill, it’s perfect for a quiet getaway where you can also take advantage of the nearby beaches, hiking trails, boating, and restaurants. Cider House East is as pictured. We found it to be very clean and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. Thanks to Mia and Bob for the added personal touches. We enjoyed our one-week stay very much!

We are on a quiet dead-end property. There is a stable with horses nearby and route 52 ( to go south to Camden or north to Belfast) is close by. One claim to fame is that our neighbors are the owners of Camden's award-winning restaurant, Long Grain. We welcome deer, eagles, hawks, owls, turkeys and rarely, moose! We have books of hand-written recommendations of our favorite places to go in all the local seaside towns; guests can add their comments to these books.
For hiking, here are some tips from our friend Molly:
My favorite hikes in the area all start right in Lincolnville.
I like Bald Rock Mountain and Cameron Mountain for the views. They would likely be considered moderate. Both of these trails can be accessed by Youngstown Road trailhead in Lincolnville. Both have start on an old carriage road. Bald Rock Mountain trail is about a mile up the carriage trail on your left and Cameron Mountain is directly across on your right! Bald Rock will you take through some deep forest with some steep inclines. At the top, you will have a beautiful overlook of the Maine islands as well as Camden. If you turn right to go to Cameron Mountain, you will walk on a wide and fairly easy old carriage road. On your right will be a steep opening up a blueberry field. Turn and take this. Once you are at the top, you will be able to see a variety of the local lakes and mountains (and even Sewall Orchard!) Hope you enjoy this hike! Camden Hills State parks has trail maps that would be able to give accurate distances
A more rugged hike that I enjoy would be in Rockport. This is Ragged Mountain. It's approximately 6-7 miles out and back. The trail head is on Hope Street in Rockport and is called George's Highland Path. It's a more rugged hike with more incline, more scrambling over rocks and takes much more time. It is beautiful. You will have views of Rockport, Hope, and some land and sea views that are gorgeous!
A quick and easy hike that I highly recommend for someone that wants to get the Maine hike experience but does not want much of the steepness would be the backside of Maiden’s Cliff. There is a road also off of Youngstown called Maiden’s Cliff road. Take it all the way to the end! (You may feel like you're intruding but you're not!) Park by the gates or off to the side. it's a bit of a muddy and wet hike as there is a stream crossing. The incline is slight. You will walk through the woods, through a giant blueberry field. You will go straight until you see a large boulder with a beautiful birch tree growing on it. At this point you will take a left onto a (not so well marked) trail. Follow the trail through the field and you will be back in the woods. After a short bit you will find yourself at the summit of Maiden’s Cliff, one the most popular hikes in Camden, overlooking Megunticook Lake. Also, this hike is featured as one of Maine's most haunted hikes!

自我介绍

We are Bob Sewall and Mia Mantello. *We welcome guests of all ethnicities, backgrounds and beliefs.* Bob is an organic farmer ( featured in the October, 2017 issue of Down East Magazine!) who planted the 550 apple trees on the property. Ours is the oldest certified organic orchard in Maine that is still in existence. Former president of MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners), he was a stone mason for 35 years and just completed a large cider and vinegar building, over which are two lovely brand-new apartments for Airbnb. These are called "The Cider House Apartments at Sewall Orchard". Mia helps on the farm and is a therapist in private practice and singer-songwriter. Mia speaks Italian but is very rusty! Both are Reiki Masters, long-time yoga practitioners and Oneness Blessing Givers. We are known for our delicious apple cider and our award-winning apple cider vinegar ( best of Maine, Down East magazine, 2008). For more about us please see (URL HIDDEN) ***Please note, our nightly price includes a 9% Maine Lodging tax. We would love you to experience our stunning landscape and views and life on a working farm.
