Very special place, filled with period antiques and carefully restored. Rooms were comfortable. Easy to feel right at home. Beautiful view of the Mississippi. We especially loved the birds..local birds and Eagles!

This was our second stay at The Mill House. We were there two years ago and have wanted to go back. Our weekend plans fell through and my BF suggested going to LeClaire. This time, we brought his 8 year old son. We had a great time. Plenty to do in the area and a lot of great restaurants. We had the fortunate opportunity to meet John when we stopped into Decades Antiques. We peppered him with a lot of questions about The Mill House restoration and that sparked a conversation about his current project. HE TOOK US TO THE PROPERTY and walked us through. We were THRILLED! The Mill House is cozy and comfortable. It was super easy to check in and they responded quickly to the questions we had. Quiet place for a respite but also fun for kids. His son enjoyed exploring outside and if you choose, you can build a fire in the pit out back. Location is an A+ too.

My husband nd I had a great time at the Old Mill house. The basement apartment where we stayed is comfortable, well equipped, and very charming. There are plenty of restaurants, antique shops, a brewery and museum within a walking distance. Even though the view of Mississippi was blocked by the parked train during our stay, we were able to use the main floor balcony where we spent our evenings enjoying the river view. John and Deb even offered us to use the second floor balcony since the apartment there was not occupied. I would love to come back sometime!
