Spent our family Christmas here and it was all that we expected. And it was decorated for Christmas as well, which was a plus! The host was always responsive to reply right back. The house was clean and kitchen was well stocked. My daughter's Prius made it up the mountain with no trouble. The views were amazing! Loved the fireplace and also pool / air hockey table. No issues with water, hot tub or internet service. We can't wait to come back again!

The “Peace of the Mountain” cabin itself was very nice, and the view was beautiful. However, there were three big things that negatively impacted our stay: • Bats in the bedroom ceiling. Being told by the main office, “there’s nothing [they] can do” until after breeding season because bats are endangered/protected was very disappointing. I explained that my daughter couldn’t sleep in the bedroom because of the noise, that our dogs were going crazy because of the noise, sent video via text to the main office on the second day of our stay to show what we were dealing with, and…nothing. We contemplated leaving early and just getting a hotel room at one point, because the bats’ squeaking and scratching was driving us all crazy. If you’re staying in the late spring/early summer… be aware that you may have (noisy) company in the attic. • The water (or lack thereof). Be aware that the “Peace of the Mountain” cabin is on a water catchment/containment system (not a well), and that your supply of water is limited to what’s in a holding tank (like an RV). We ran out of water the day before we checked out, and spent our last afternoon/early evening calling the emergency line, waiting hours for a water truck to come partially refill the tank, worrying about how to clean the cabin/do dishes so we weren’t charged cleaning fees, and using bottled water. Also note that the hot water is limited, too. We found out the hard way that a family of 4 all taking showers in the morning will leave someone out in the cold. Literally. • The beds. I know comfort is subjective. But every bed was either very hard, very squeaky, or both. My husband and kids took turns sleeping on the big sectional couch…it was the only comfortable piece of furniture in the place. This was our first time using AirBNB, and I rarely leave reviews of any kind. I hope that sharing our experience will help others know what they *might* encounter if staying here, so they won’t have the same unpleasant surprises. P. S. Also heed the recommendations and other reviews that suggest that you have an AWD/4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the cabin. Once the pavement ends and the gravel begins, it gets very steep and narrow. There were a few storms that came through with lots of rain, and the roads were slick and pull-off areas (to allow cars to pass on the one lane road) were soft. Our AWD Mazda CX-5 made it, but we had to lock in manual/low gear. I’d hate to see what it’s like in the snow - and I’m from Michigan!

Relaxing time and beautiful views! Only issue was that the hot tub was empty on arrival but response time to get maintenance there was extremely quick! We weren’t able to get in the first night due to water temp not being ready because of this issue but we enjoyed the second night. Would stay again!

We were so pleased with the cabin and it was decorated for Christmas which we loved!!! My only complaint is be very careful with pulling in and parking!
