This is a great camp, with excellent staff. Ali and Sara have built something special here and hired excellent people to serve their guests. Staff were kind, funny, generous and very warm - true Moroccan hospitality. Communication was fast and efficient. The site itself is beautiful with comfortable tents, communal areas to relax and a nice dinner tent. Note that this camp is directly beside many others. It had been years since I was in the Sahara and it’s now very built up - if you climb to the top of the small dune adjacent to the camp you will be looking down onto another camp in either direction - you can hear other guests from different camps during the nighttime music routine and at sunrise/sunset when the dunes get very busy. The dunes themselves in this part of the desert are extremely busy - vehicles, camels, 4x4 all circling taking tourists out at all hours of day (but sunrise and sunset were extremely busy). There is a lot of garbage thrown into the dunes, which was so sad to see. The staff was very accommodating of my many food allergies. The private shower and bathrooms were a wonderful addition, and not something that all camps offer, which may account for the significantly higher price to stay here. Having not stayed at another camp for many years I can’t attest to the value for the cost - it was over $500 CAD for 2 nights, which appeared to be double what most camps are. This included breakfast and dinner but did not include any activities (camel riding, 4x4 etc). Again, perhaps this cost is because they are offering something unique (we didn’t have time to do much research and booked last minute/based on highest reviews). We hoped that the elevated cost meant that they are paying their staff a living wage, because they certainly deserve it! Overall, a nice experience but I would probably explore other, more private camps the next time I come to the Sahara.

I will always be grateful to Sara and her team for making my trip in Morocco a memorable experience! I saw her property on the Lonely Planet guide, checked some pictures and read some reviews (all great) so I contacted her. She was responsive and happy to help me out in answering to all my questions. I didn’t hesitate and booked immediately one night in her camp. Oh, I would have stayed longer in the desert! Magic location, super clean and comfortable tent, delicious food and wonderful people (the camel man - also our official photographer :) - and the waiter were amazing). All of them were very welcoming, kind, polite, friendly… I could not ask better. Sorry for I don’t recall their names. They arranged a beautiful surprise to my husband for his birthday. All was beyond perfect. We will never forget this beautiful adventure! Sara also helped us arranging a driver for our trip, our dearest Ahmad. He was simply SUPER! Available, a great driver (no car sickness at all although road were full of curves) friendly, smiling and always in a happy mood. He gave us a lot of information about the Berber life and Morocco in general. We’ll miss him! Stay here at Sara’s place with no hesitation! Thank you to my Berber family! With lots of love <3
