We had a fabulous time once again enjoying nature and soaking in the sun, beautiful view, and ambience throughout! We did treat ourselves to dinner and an ice cream at There's a Treat right down the road and bought lobsters and a beautiful lupine table runner at The Sleigh Bell Shoppe & Lobster Crate! Both were great and it was a wonderful experience all around. There was a red tide during our trip and the Shellfish Warden for Deer Isle was a huge help for information!! They encourage seniors to get licenses during their stays by making them free (but you do need to make a trip to Town Hall!)

Our family enjoyed this home thoroughly for our week vacation. The beauty of the location right on the water and the spectacular starry sky on a clear night was perfect. We highly recommend.

A beautiful home in a beautiful part of Deer Isle. The views of the reach from the back porch and the living room and bedroom windows are wonderful. We had such a nice and relaxing time as a family. It’s close to fun activities — Nervous Nellie’s, Scott’s Landing — and it’s a bright and inviting and clean place.

Deer Island is a very special place. If you love nature hikes, quiet time and great food, this is the place for you. The house is clean and roomy and the spacious kitchen allows for group cooking. My favorite feature was the deck with a glorious view of the bay with several species of water birds to observe as you sip your morning coffee. I will miss that view! Bring your binoculars. There are wonderful restaurants in Stonington which is 10 minutes away and don't miss Nervous Nellie's Jams and Jellies for a fun visit to an artist's fantasy...and great jams and chutneys for purchase.

The house is lovely and the location is great. But renters should be aware that the owners (and their dog) live on site, in a garage unit that is directly next to the house. This fact is not disclosed on the property listing, where it is claimed that the house offers total "privacy". Clearly one cannot have privacy if the owners are within earshot.
