Tolle Unterkunft direkt in der Natur. Elefanten-Villa mit super schönen Pool (mit grünen Fließen, nicht das Wasser ist grün), bequemem, riesengroßen Bett und einem modernem Badezimmer . Sehr flexibler und zuvorkommender Service. Kirche gegenüber hält morgens eine Zeremonie ab, was man für ca. Eine halbe Stunde hört.

A gorgeous location where you can splash around in your own private pool (perfect temperature) and watch the swaying palms and the river flow past. The pool is the perfect size and location (we were in the Elephant Villa). It had a little shady corner when needed and the perfect amount of sun... we stayed in for hours even enjoying it when a storm passed through (made it even more magical). It feels like you are a million miles away from everything but you are in a central and convenient location at the same time. Mark has created a little slice of paradise, uniquely quirky and colourful and friendly just like him. Our room was well designed with playful touches, comfortable, with a huge bathroom and great shower, lovely products, endless hot water and working aircon (a huge plus especially with some hotels not having generators at the moment). I loved all the luscious plants growing from the building and the pops of colour from the flowers. The Wifi was fast and reliable as well. His team kindly served us dinner on our terrace and it was again unique with personal touches and delicious (i had been missing salads and they do a really great one). We watched the sun set and stars come out and bats flying around the moonlit sky. They have a restaurant with a back terrace which has a lovely view. And you can book a massage / spa treatments as well. It is great to be somewhere where you feel like you have your own villa / house and can easily pop out and request any sort of help or get a home-cooked meal. A perfect ending to 3 weeks in Sri Lanka, we will be back.

The beautiful pictures advertised are loyal to Waterland: luxurious and very comfortable villas. Very nice to chill near to the airport. However, we were informed when we arrived that spa treatments were, in fact, not available for lack of personnel and there are no other spa within walking distance. This was a disappointment.

Mark's Elephant Villa was absolutely stunning! Such a relaxing place to stay, we were in heaven! The food is great, service is brilliant they have bicycles if you want to explore the area, but we did not want to leave the pool at all! The photos were accurate and the staffs were wonderful. We went to celebrate a birthday. I just want to say thank you and all your staffs for the amazing work. You took care of everything as you promised. Love the way you decorated the villa for the ocassion. I am so glad we picked your villa. We stayed one night but will definetly go back here

Waterland Villas was our treat for the end of a two week trip around Sri Lanka. It was everything described and more, with 10/10 service and complete privacy to enjoy the quality facilities. We loved having our meals served on our private deck and spent the whole day in the pool enjoying the sea breeze. The location is great if you’re after a quiet, secluded luxury stay, however a cheap tuk tuk ride would get you to many great restaurants or bars. We will be recommending Waterland to friends traveling to Sri Lanka as a perfect place to start or end their trip due to its high quality and proximity to the airport.
