We stayed in "Skyview". It was clean, bright and spacious. The host Made & his family very nice & friendly. Breakfast a bit too small. "Skyview" with the terrace facing a house looks like a wood factory w/ workers there all the time. If I come again, I'll choose the rice field, better view & more privacy.

We stayed just for 1 night in their spacious skyroom. The name was rightly chosen: what a great view we'd got! The breakfast was good and included, for a small amount we could also stay for diner. The house is near ubud, 15 minutes drive from the center (Monkey Forrest Road). It's too far to walk so Made offered to drive us to several nearby temples for an reasonable price. He was very warm and helpful during the trip. He took us to great spots and we've enjoyed his happiness!

We highly recommend staying with Made and Rinin while visiting Ubud! They were very warm and welcoming hosts (and wonderful people in general) and were very responsive to our needs during our one month stay. Their house is about a 15-20 minute ride from the city center situated in a Balinese neighborhood with extensive rice fields. We rented a motor bike from them for a very reasonable price, and it was very reliable. We stayed in the "sky view" which was very spacious and offers a great view of the surrounding rice fields. The natural light that floods into the rooms is beautiful. Also, the layout of the bedroom, bathroom, living room, and porch / kitchen makes a lot of sense functionally. Basically, the space just feels good. The room is designed with space between the top of the walls and the roof. The good side of this design is that a lovely breeze comes into the room. Because of this, although it did not have AC, it was very comfortable throughout the day and night. The down side of this design is that the floor of the room can get a little messy at points because of bugs and the lizards that liked hanging out on the ceiling. But, the staff at the homestay will clean often if you ask, and we found that that fixed the issue. The view and the breeze were well worth it for us!

Our stay at Dukuh Village homestay with Made Arka and Rinin is probably the highlight of our stay in Bali. Surrounded by ricefields and a few kilometers from the city, it is a convenient place where you can still enjoy nature. Our room is beautiful, Balinese designed, clean, with strong wifi connection, warm water, private bath and kitchen, all the conveniences of modern life. But it is very much close to nature that you can hear frogs and cicadas at night. Our hosts are very helpful and their family is warm and accommodating, I will definitely go back to their place and I highly recommend it to travelers who want to have an awesome Balinese experience.

My four year old and I had two nights at Made and Rinin's accommodation, and I would recommend to people seeking a quite retreat from the madness of Ubud. Cleanliness was a bit of an issue, (just the bathroom) however for the price it was a good value stay. It would be a great place to go for a couple of weeks and settle in, which we would have done apart from the transport issue - it was a bit expensive and inconvenient when you have a small child! Better for people who can ride a scooter around! Very welcoming hosts, and gorgeous rice paddy setting.
