The Bungalow is one of the most beautiful properties I have stayed at. The pool, the stunning architecture, delicious Sri Lankan food, and most importantly, Sathis and Manil’s hospitality exceeded all our expectations. Sathis went out of his way to pick and drop us off himself when we needed transport to nearby towns. The traditional meals cooked by the staff at the bungalow were some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Sathis has managed to find the perfect balance between making his guests feel at home, while also feeling like they’re on a luxurious holiday. Our parents, for whom we planned this trip, cannot stop raving about how much they loved the Bungalow. I would highly recommend asking for recommendations and ordering a few Sri Lankan meals from the staff at the bungalow. The property is very kid-friendly and the staff went out of their way to cook special meals for our 3 year old niece.

I am an Airbnb superhost and stay at Airbnb listings 90% of the time when I travel. The bungalow is easily the best Airbnb I have stayed at with the hosts, Sathis and his wife Manil, and all the staff, being incredibly hospitable and helpful. The bungalow is a marvel of design, built at the top of the Cinnamon estate, providing a beautiful view from the veranda/pool area, and is such a peaceful oasis after experiencing the busy cities of Colombo-Kandy. There are three guest rooms situated around the beautifully designed courtyard, all huge with high ceilings, big comfortable beds, spacious en suite shower areas, air conditioning and plenty of storage. The main shared living space is also huge, containing plentiful sofas/chairs and the longest dining table I have ever seen. The polished concrete flooring is sumptuous to walk on with bare feet, and the design is amazing with glass doors allowing a view out to the veranda, pool and valley; the ceilings are very high which gives a sense of space that enables you to feel relaxed and restful. There is also another dining area at one end of the veranda which allow for outside dining. Meals, drinks etc can be requested at any time of the day at reasonable prices, and as with everything else at the bungalow, the quality and choice is outstanding. The chef is excellent, and meals are served in a manner which equal any five star hotel. As long as you communicate any requests about transport, and day trips, Sathis and Manil will arrange these, providing tips and information that enable you to enjoy the experiences. We went to one of the National Parks, as well as a whale watching day and enjoyed ourselves. Galle is only twenty minutes away, (a must visit town) and for all of these trips Sathis’s nephew drove us in their large comfortable air conditioned 4 by 4 Land Cruiser. Manil also arranged for us to have massages at the bungalow, which were very good, costing around 14 GBP each. If you are looking for a place where you can experience complete tranquility, relaxation, and enjoy a house and location that is simply outstanding in every way, then book the bungalow. Our only regret is that we only had several days here before we had to fly onto Australia....had I known what a beautiful place this is, I would have ensured we had longer. I have no doubt that Sathis will become a Superhost as soon as enough guests have left reviews! Thanks to Sathis, Manil and all the staff....we hope to visit again! Bert

The bungalow is a beautiful place. The setting is gorgeous, the food superb and the team Of staff display exemplary care and consideration under the leadership of Sathis and his lovely wife, Manel. Every need is met without any fuss. Even the children has help eating their yummy dinners. And the cleanliness is fantastic. Sathis even kindly agreed to host our extended family for a buffet lunch and time together which generated many very happy memories. Without question I would recommend this place to anyone wanting some Relaxation, brilliant food and fabulous scenery.

The bungalow is a true gem in the hills overlooking their own cinnamon plantation. This feels like a true home stay, of the highest order and Sathis and his Wife Manel alongside the lovely staff catered to any request with grace and understanding. The bungalow is located just 20 mins from the beaches of Weligama, mirissa & Matara, allowing you to have a party/ beach experience if you want and then come back to the bungalow and escape. The food menu is extensive and delicious - and definitely go for the local breakfast! Delish. Stayed here with my parents and my Brother for 6 nights and we were sad to leave. Already booked for Easter again with friends. It’s a lovely spot for a chilled and high end tropical break.
