The Nest was exactly as advertised. The location was perfect for exploring the surrounding areas of Haiku, Paia, and Makawao. Close to the Hana highway as well. Kimberly and her family are lovely and the only noises we ever heard from their adjacent home were the sounds of laughter from a clearly happy household. We tend to be solitary and self-sufficient and Kim and her family did not impose on us at all. That was really appreciated. We would definitely recommend this space both for it's convenient upcountry location and it's affordable price.

it's an amazing place to stay - especially if you're living in a big city and are stayin during your vacation in this beautiful place and realize how nature sounds at night-time :-) was a lovely place - we stayed there for a week :-))))))))

This is a secluded oasis about 3 miles from the road to Hana. Price was reasonable. It's about 13 miles from the airport. Colleen's Restaurant is 3 miles down the road in Haiku. Excellent for breakfast. It's 39 miles on a windy road to Hana with great views. Lahaina is 37 miles on the other side of Maui. Good location for exploring Maui. Kimberly and Dan were great people.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Maui. The property is located in a tropical forest setting, almost in the very middle of Maui, which makes it the perfect spot to explore both sides of the island. The soothing, melodic sounds of wild life can be heard when windows of the guest room are open. It is important to remember this is Kim and Dan's family home. Domestic noises: voices in the adjoining room, toilet flushing, foot steps above, are noticeable. The guest room has a lovely new bed with comfortable and clean linen; and the kitchenette and dining area are adequate for making breakfast, teas and snacks. Excellent Wi-Fi connection and plenty of space for luggage. Handy hint: bring a jacket and woollens to Maui - it gets a bit cold here! Kim and Dan very generously supplied beach chairs, towels and umbrella; esky; surf / boogie boards; and snorkel. A special note to Kim & Dan: Thank you for the gift we received on Valentine's Day. It was a wonderful and touching surprise.
