I stayed in Room 1 on the ground floor of the house. I initially booked a long-term stay of four months but cancelled after 16 nights due to bad conditions in the house. The host has updated the description now, but at the time that I booked it the description said that the bathroom and kitchen are "private". But when I came to the apartment I found out that bathroom/wc and kitchen are in fact shared between 5 people in the house – this was my first disappointment. There is a big difference between a private bathroom/kitchen and one shared among 5 people. It should be noted that past Airbnb guests had made this same comment in their reviews in Aug 2021 and the host had not bothered to update the description when I booked the room in December 2021, or indeed while I stayed there in the beginning of March 2022. She also ignored the question when I directly asked her whether the bathroom is shared or not, in private chat. Internationals in particular who may lack other options should beware and not be taken advantage of. Secondly, the house is in general poorly maintained and lacks functionality; the kitchen sink regularly gets clogged. The main reason I cancelled my stay was because the sink inside the room regurgitated brown-colored waste water which overflowed and flooded the floor. This happened in the middle of the night, so I had to stay up mopping the water. The host told me the sewage is not connected with the sink, but the stench of the water told me a different story. To her credit, the host did respond as quickly as she could, but she also downplayed the seriousness of the situation, blaming other tenants for clogging the drain with food particles when the issue was obviously a deep plumbing issue and poor maintenance. When this happened for the second consecutive night, I cancelled my stay. The room does have amenities as shown in the pictures, and is in a good location but basic functionality is lacking. All in all, this was a bad experience that made my life in Belgium more difficult with having to move around between hotels and apartments every few weeks because I made the mistake of trusting this accommodation.

I stayed in Room 1 of this house for a month while visiting the University here in Kortrijk. The room is large and clean, with a sink, fridge, and microwave, in addition to a couch, desk, bed, wardrobe, and coffee table. This meant I could be very independent which was perfect for me. The location is great - about half-way between the town and the campus, and with a big supermarket 2 minutes away. Highly recommend for other independent minded medium-term visitors.

Fine location, and even if you don't want to walk to town there' s bus station near. Had some issues upon arrival which were quickly resolved by the host. Although, the accommodation itself has cleanliness problems, and I wouldn't really call it modern overall.
