Skyros . ----------------------- THE HOUSE ---------------. >>> A beautiful two bedroom house which can accommodate up to 6 people, built in the authentic Skyrian style, perched high on a sheltered hillside affording outstanding south westerly sea views. The house sits within professionally landscaped gardens with a south facing sheltered terrace giving privacy and panoramic outlook. >>> The main living area consists of a well equipped modern kitchen with; fridge freezer, electric oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher and well stocked crockery cupboards. The kitchen is open plan into the lounge/dining area with corner fireplace, dining table seating 6 people, large sofa (bed), television and CD player. All the furniture and decoration is in the traditional Skyrian style made and sourced on the island. The living area has access on three sides, on the east via the main door from the patio and on the west and south via glazed doors to the terrace. On the fourth wall of the living area there is a sliding door opening into a hallway which leads on to the double bedroom, the twin bedroom and two WC/shower rooms. Both bedrooms are comfortably furnished with plenty of wardrobe storage, the twin room also has glazed doors opening on to the terrace. All windows and doors in the house have traditional wooden shutters which give insulation from the hot summer days. >>> This unique home has been fitted out with attention to detail and a passion for Skyrian culture and island living. It has the warm heart of a traditional home along with the practicalities and conveniences of a modern family house. >>> There is a separate detached one bedroom apartment and garage in the basement of the house which the owner retains for his own use. >>> THE GARDENS ------------------ >>> The name of the domain 'S t e n a g a l i' has a dual meaning; a small protected cove and a tight cuddle, this perfectly describes both the geography of its position and its secure homely ambience. The house completed in 2001 is set on a desirable ten hectare hillside plot. The grounds are accessed through an electronic gate on to a sloping driveway which runs down to a small covered parking area at the front door of the house The gardens immediately surrounding the house are terraced. There is a large paved patio and barbecue area overlooked by a raised deck which provides a perfect setting for playing or parties, in 2014 the gardens hosted a wedding reception for 200 guests! Around the terraces there are mature plants and colourful flowers all beautifully floodlit at night. On the west side of the gardens there are fig trees, lemon trees, olive trees, a vegetable and fruit patch and a small vineyard, from which the owner produces diligently his own quality wine. >>> Visitors will find a warm welcome, a home from home ... as well as a little Stenagali wine and fresh garden produce waiting for them.
