The house itself was great. Perfect location for the wedding we were attending in Fishtail. The kids loved the little treehouse and being able to play in a calm part of the river. It was also very convenient to have a restaurant/bar across the street. The carpets had some stains when we arrived that we are being blamed for. And although I understand some dead flies here and there… some of the windowsills were FULL of flies and dust. Several of the wine glasses & water glasses had little spiders nests inside. Super gross. I should have taken pictures of everything. Also there was a nail sticking out of the floor that my son tripped on and hurt his toe. I couldn’t find extra towels or pillows & when I asked for some since we were there for several days with kids, we were accused of having more guests than we registered for, which was false. When I couldn’t find extra trash bags for the kitchen, I was scared to even ask. There was a broken banister… waiting to be blamed for that too.
I loved the place it was so beautiful and the inside was very clean and we had Norma back us a cake surprisingly. The inside was really nice and looks great and we had everything we needed and more for comfort! It was close to the outdoors and when we went down the road a couple of miles we were able to see a mother bear and two cubs t three mornings.Caught fish right in the back. Our refrigerator didn’t work but things happen and and Pamela took care of the problem as quickly as possible and much appreciated. I would have given 5 stars except for a couple of outside issues. The nail heads sticking up on the upper deck caught my socks a few times and the yard was not finished mowing. That being said we had a lot of fun playing yard games that were provided and a nice gas grill and very nice lower deck and seating! I would definitely recommend this place for a family it is a very comfortable place to stay!
This is an exceptionally special spot. We came in fall after the tourists and the Grizzly had closed. Book 3 days minimum so you can fully relax into the setting. We had the entire upstairs 3 bed unit to ourselves tho it was only the two of us. we chose to sleep on the queen mattress set up as a day bed in the main living room to be nearest to the sounds of the creek and with maximum air flow. The sound of the creek is constant and soothing. The kitchen is well equipped and fully functional. There is a bbq on the front porch if you want to grill. You have your own private balcony upstairs that over looks the creek. Private, serene and so restful. Thanks for everything Pamela!
This place is such a gem, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Perfect balcony of the river, well stocked kitchen with everything you need. Huge kitchen and living room. It is near all the cool places one wants to visit in this area from Red Lodge, Nye, Cooke City and Cody, Wy. We enjoyed our stay very much and looking forward to come back to visit again.
21 East Rosebud sits across the street from the Grizzly Bar and Restaurant at the mouth of the East Rosebud Valley. The valley offers tremendous outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, hunting, its own lake as well as access to the surrounding areas including Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort, the Beartooth Mountains and Highway, 2 hours to Yellowstone National Park and is only a short drive to the Tippet Rise Art Center in Fishtail. The closest main airport is Billings National Airport and is about 1 1/2 hour drive from the house. We are 83 miles - just about 3 hours - from the northeast entrance to Yellowstone reached by the breathtaking drive on the Beartooth Hwy. Teddy Roosevelt called this road to Yellowstone “the most beautiful 50 miles in America” with stunning canyon and river views, plenty of wildlife, and less traffic than other gates into the Park.
You will need a car, good hiking shoes and WADERS and fishing gear if planning on fishing...

Aloha! We are lifelong friends from Hawaii who came to Montana to work at Tippet Art Center during its initial building phase doing the interior decorating (Cindy) and provisioning the living quarters (Pam0. While regularly eating at The Grizzly Restaurant in Roscoe, we would come out of the restaurant and wonder why this beautiful house and grounds on 3 waterways was standing empty. Finally, we were able to buy it in 2016, renovate it in 2017 and the rest is history! We love staying there with our families when it is not booked but seems it is becoming more and more popular which is both a good and not so good thing.
