Lovely clean house, everything that you could need! 2 showers so both double bedrooms can have a bathroom each and a downstairs toilet makes a big difference with 2 families sharing. Lovely enclosed garden, with a view of the sea from living room and upstair bedroom. Watchet is a lovely little place to stay everyone is really friendly.
We visited in February with two dogs and had a wonderful week.. The cottage was really lovely, spacious, very clean and every amenity you could wish for. Tim's was a thoughtful host ensuring the cottage was warm and welcoming when we arrive and responding promptly to any questions. Watchet is a lovely little place with cafes resteraunts, and atmospheric pubs. There is a beach 2min from the cottage which was great for the dogs as was the enclosed garden. Within a short drive there are sandy rocky and fósil beaches, hills, and woodland walks. We loved it.
Beautiful location, clean and spacious cottage. comfortable and homely. would I use it again, definitely? Thanks Tim, from the Brown Family
Greengates was a lovely property, fantastic Tim was happy for us to take 4 dogs!! House had everything we needed, very clean & comfy, we all felt at home straight away. Great location with the beach across the road & town 2 mins walk away. Watchet is a lovely town, great variety of shops, eating places, market, beaches, fossils & a steam train!!! We had a lovely relaxing time, thank you. Hx
We all loved the house . It was really clean and lovely decor.. The rooms were bigger than expected .Excellent bath /shower rooms. Lovely kitchen to cook in which we did each night. There were little touches that made it special . The garden was a bonus, once the sun came out! We were close to everything we needed, if not driving out for the day. Recommend the Weds Market, East Quay arts, Chives cafe .
The historical harbour town of Watchet itself is quite magical. Set on a stunning coastline great for fossil hunting and bird watching, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Even in the height of the holiday season it has a peaceful, laid back atmosphere. However it is a lively and friendly community with an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. Take some time to visit the picturesque marina, travel on the steam railway, wander round the two museums , visit the art galleries, browse the antique shops or weekly craft and food markets. There’s everything you need from good local shops, friendly bars and cafe’s, to a fab local music scene. As well as all this on your door step you are only a few minutes drive away from Dunster Castle, Blue Anchor Bay, the popular seaside town of Minehead. So there are great leisure facilities, shops and attractions around the corner plus some of the best walking in England, across Exmoor and The Quantocks. Drive a little further on south and before you know it your on to some of Devon’s most beautiful beaches too.
The West Somerset Steam Railway is a must and very handy for travelling to local town Minehead with its shops. Local bus services also run frequently from the station. There are also plenty of taxi services and car hire is available from nearby Taunton or Bridgwater.

Based in the beautiful harbour town of Watchet in Somerset, I am a self employed holiday cottage owner, composer, musician, producer and web designer. I work from home where I live with my wife Lisa. Between us we have 3 grown up kids and 2 dogs. We own and run a holiday cottage in Watchet which we lovingly restored over the course of a year. Love travel, nature, the arts, good food and good music.
