Bartinney is a special place to recharge and rest and the beauty of the farm breathtaking. Taste fully decorated with beautiful artwork. The wine tasting was excellent and Carmen the Sommelier highly recommended. We will be back soon!
My husband and I had a lovely stay on the estate and the loft was spacious. It had great amenities if you wanted to cook in and good recommendations for local restaurants and activities. The complementary wine/gin tastings were a bonus! P.s. The dogs on the estate were really friendly and so cute!
We really loved our stay! What a beautiful location and beautiful loft. We enjoyed the wine tasting a lot and even on of the wine tram lines stopped at the estate. Will definitely stay here again when visiting stellenbosch the next time!
We had a fantastic stay at Bartinney. The host was very responsive and friendly to communicate with. The property was stunning as well - some of the best views we saw in Stellenbosch area. We were able to walk right out our door and either go to their tasting room or on a hike. We were also able to walk freely around the property and vineyards. Bartinney is nicely located in-between Stellenbosch and Franshoek, so travel to either is quite easy. Loved our stay here, and if we ever come back to South Africa, we will come here again!
We had a lovely stay. Elanie our host was so nice and responsive. The little extra touches in the apartment were very much appreciated. The winery and scenery are stunning. Staff all friendly. Not much negative to say. You will need a car to get around and we’d suggest booking places if you venture out for dinner. Only small negative for us was the major noise where they were clearing a space behind our accommodation to plant vines, so the machinery was very noisy at points. But Elanie did her best to accommodate our needs by requesting that work didn’t start too early, or finish too late. Something you have to expect with a working wine farm I suppose. Won’t stop us from returning. And finally, there are 4 gorgeous friendly dogs on the estate. If you’re looking for a friend, you may well get a visit from one of the dogs to your apartment in the evening. Juice came to visit us and we loved having him there snoring next to us 🥰

The beautifully restored self-catering vineyard guesthouses are ideal for a restful Wineland getaway. The historic working wine estate enjoys unrivalled panoramic views of the Drakenstein and Simonsberg mountain ranges. The estate itself lies on the Botmaskop mountain, with hand-tended vines planted in the dramatic slopes and in between indigenous fynbos. The estate is just 15 minutes from the heart of Stellenbosch and 30 minutes from Franschhoek. Head to the Tasting Shed on the estate to enjoy the Bartinney wines and unrivalled views, walk amongst the vines, hike through the estate’s winding trails and head into the Banhoek Conservancy, and try some of the Cape’s finest restaurants that are just a stones throw away. All cottages are fully equipped, have Wifi, Netflix, Streaming and are self-catering.
