The house "Il Lauro" is a beautifully authentic, welcoming place suitable for e.g. a family of four. Make sure you memorize plenty of landmarks/details along the road as you follow your check-in contact uphill - or you're bound to get seriously lost on your first nighttime trip back home after dinner in Cortona :-) The pool made this place the perfect alternative to a holiday by the sea. What makes this place so special: the magnificent views and the fact that it's located on an olive grove. You may even ask the gardener for a few lemons in the morning! Cool: the BBQ at the top of the premises and the roofed outdoor table. We also loved that there are trekking options just outside the house, e.g. to Torreone near the top of Cortona (coffee!) and then onwards into the forest and up an ancient Roman road. My husband and our children (8 and 11) had 2,5 amazing weeks here.

We stayed here for a week and this location was absolutely amazing. If you are new to driving in Italy the trip up the hill may seem a bit nerve wracking, but the view from the top is amazing. Lots of space and privacy, but an short drive to beautiful Cortona and other surrounding Tuscan towns and wineries. The pool was great during the extremely hot week we stayed. The three split AC units were not that powerful, but they were very typical of Italian units. Even running multiple units through the majority of the day and the night was not too expensive. Overall, this was an amazing location with a great and very responsive host!

An unique experience under the Tuscany sun! Great pool and no photo can express adequately the scenery. Valeria made us feel very welcome! Unforgettable!

The outdoor spaces of this property are great! Three levels, all with great views. We made a lot of use of the gazebo on the top level with a view out over the olive groves and the valley. The walk to Cortona is pleasant, though strenuous, but there is a good tavern at the high point of the climb (in Torreone). We had a great time here.

The pictures don’t do this place justice. The farm house is rustic but very sweet and comfortable. The outside space though is spectacular. The grounds are well kept and the views utterly incredible. The peace and quiet is only disturbed by the birds and the insects. The top terrace with the BBQ area is exceptional and the pool is much better (deeper and bigger) than the photos show. Great place. Only downside was the mosquitoes in the evening which are savages but that’s hardly something the host can help. Be warned though, repellent is necessary.
