The property was beautifully decorated and the host was very kind. Checkin was flexible and there were lots of local supermarkets!
Logement agréable, pratique et confortable Parfait pour un couple. Très bien situé pour visiter Lisbonne
It looks good, but that’s about it. Host was very cost aware - rationing toilet roll like it’s a time of emergency, but oh they even failed to fulfill the bare minimum. 1. Rationing Toilet roll - only 1 toilet roll will be provided for guest with stay of 3 nights or less. Oh well they overpromised - only 2 were provided. 2. Host responded that the next day it will be delivered, which never happened. Empty promise it seems. Claimed it was put in a place but none was found. Highly doubt if other guests took it. Most likely a lie. 2. Hair dryer was out of order. Took a day to reply there’s nothing can be done 3. Sofa bed had stain 4. Bedding was lacking - not sure if the only sheet provided is to cover the bed or separate the blanket from the guest 5. Light above showerbox is faulty, asked host about it, never replied. 6. Chair was broken. 7. Design looks nice but not practical. 8. Walls are only separated by wooden, sound insulation is very bad, especially when the shower drips.
The Graça District is one of Lisbon's oldest suburbs, located on top of her highest hill, a few blocks north-east of the Castelo de Sao Jorge and just up the hill from São Vincente de Fora Monastery. The neighbourhood, which centres around the Lago da Graça (the number 28 tram stops here), boasts some of the most spectacular views in Lisbon. The most famous viewpoint is the Miradouro de Santa Graca, which offers up the whole of central Lisbon and the castle to the north. An open-air cafe, open late into the night in Summer, is a favourite with young locals.
The lesser-known Miradouro da Senhora do Monte is an uncrowded spot, popular with lovers, where you can sit and watch the sun set over the city. Although there is no cafe here the rooftop bar of the Abergaria Senhora do Monte is open to visitors and offers even more spectacular views. Inside a small chapel dedicated to St Gens is a chair reputed to guarantee every pregnant woman who sits in it the safe delivery of her child.
Six hundred meters down the hill from the Senhora do Monte is the Baroque Igreja de Graça, one of Lisbon's oldest churches and now used as a military barracks. The church was built in 1721 and features a collection of seventeenth century tiles.
The Graça District is reached by walking up through the narrow streets of Mouraria (an African Alfama without the tourists and boutiques). Graça itself is a charming place whose own narrow streets are brimming with cake shops and restaurants, mostly frequented by locals.
Graça offers easy access to bus, tram and underground and is within walking distance of most of Lisbon's hotspots.
As Graça is situated at the top of the highest of Lisbon’s seven hills it is best served by the tram ride up to Graça is really a fascinating trip through the historical winding streets of Lisbon. It is also possible to reach Graça via Metro for those willing to walk up the hill from either Santa Aplónia or Intendente. Many people find themselves ending up in the Graça neighbourhood whilst taking a stroll through Alfama’s maze of cobbled streets andstairways. A walk through Alfama up to the high point of the city and Miradouro’s of Graça is certainly charming and worthwhile. The famous nº28 tram heads up towards Graça after passing the Castle and through Alfama.
