I had an amazing time at Vali Ben's place that is hosted on Airbnb by Maya. The listing was located a little away from the nearest town and therefore offered a true village experience. Vali Ben's home is located near the village temple amidst a cluster of traditional village homes that made me feel that I had come to a different world. The home had all basic amenities including an air cooler, fridge, comfortable beds and beddings and a western toilet. I was deeply touched by the hospitality of Vali Ben and her family who fed me a truly delicious dinner with traditional Gujarati cuisine and even packed me my breakfast after waking up at 4 am to get everything ready for me including a hot cup of tea. They also arranged for my trip from the village to the Airport with a trusted member of their community whose wife also accompanied me on the trip. The night I spent there can only be described as one of my rare chances to be part of a village community who treated me just as one of their own. Vali Ben's friends joined us at night and had an impromptu singing session where they picked up old folk songs and we sang together. It was one of my most memorable stays that made me feel as if I was at my own home in a different land among strangers who became friends in no time. Looking forward to my next visit!
