自我介绍

My name is Di, your host, and the owner of these lovely dugouts Coober Pedy has been my main residence for 27 years, moving here from Mackay Qld with my husband and our 5 children in 1995 to opal mine, which we did, until my husband passed away suddenly about 18 months after moving here. I continued to opal mine part time for 22 years. My main occupation (from the age of 26) had been hospitality and working with people. My passion and hobby in life is renovating. I purchased my dugouts in March 1997, 3 months after my husband died, making "Di's Place” our family home. With the help of my lovely family and some amazing friends, I have spent many hours continuing to improve the dugout while taking care not to lose the wonderful atmosphere created, and the work done, by the original owner Cobra. In April 2017 I finally opened these 2 lovely dugouts up as accommodation to share with people from around Australia and the World.
