South Fork is a centrally located neighborhood about 5 minutes to all main attractions in Three Rivers: riverfront access, Lake Kaweah and downtown Three Rivers. We highly recommend a visit to the Three Rivers Historical Museum where you can learn more about the fascinating history of the area. Our home is about a 15 minute drive to Sequoia National Park and we recommend stopping at Sequoia or Kaweah Coffee Shops on your way to the park for a delicious latte and a quick bite before your hike!
Sequoia National Park, the second oldest national park, is a must do day trip. No visit is complete without walking among the giant sequoias, including General Sherman, believed to be the largest living tree on the planet (and one of the oldest at 2,300–2,700 years old). Whether you pack your own picnic lunches (or pick them up from the local sandwich shop), having a picnic in Sequoia Park is an unforgettable experience. If you are hiking early, you may want to pick up a sandwich the day before since the famous Sierra Subs does not open until 10:30 am and is closed on Sundays and Mondays. You can also opt for lunch at Wuksachi Lodge, located just a few miles past the turn-off for the General Sherman tree.
Skyline loop and Salt Creek Falls are popular hikes in Three Rivers for birding, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

Our home is equipped with outdoor parking, up the driveway on the gravel area. There is public transit to the national park from downtown Three Rivers. If you're interested, please ask the staff at the Three Rivers Historical Museum for more information.
