Got a tip to this place that it was a great place to stay. Rooms where clean, airco present, easy communication. All what you can expect. But the absolute highlights for me, was the friendly atmosphere, and way they helped me, the step back, close to basics and nature, in a very convieniant way. And the small surprices I had during my stay there, like seeing fireflies, cameleons and a monitor. At all times I felt safe, welcome and I could relax, enjoying a book or just marval at the garden and river. I can highly recommand this place.

Beautiful quiet spot on the river where you feel surrounded by nature. So lovely to have a delicious breakfast in the garden before heading to the wonderful beach at Benota. Sanjaya and his family made us feel very welcome, only wished we could have stayed longer. Our first stop and it was perfect introduction to Sri Lanka!

Sanajya's Home is really beautiful and very welcoming. I immensely enjoyed my stay and he also came to receive me at the bus stand on time. The food is mother prepares at a very reasonable price is amazing, one of the best you will have at Srilanka. He also arranged for a decent safari ride in Mangroove Forests. However, Solo female travelers have to be very careful about their security. As I faced a similar issue, I was followed by a unknown person from Bentota Beach to the home stay, which is approximately 2kms. A guy at the beach asked me from where I am and I completely ignored after that I took a tuk tuk and went to the home stay while taking a halt at a grocery store. After I reached my homestay and the tuk tuk left, I started opening my room when a man oon his bike stopped in the premises of the house and started approaching me. It was the same guy who I saw at the beach. He stalked me through out my journey from Bentota Beach to the Home stay. I raised my voice and the moment he saw the Sanjaya's mom, he started speaking something in their local language. She apologized and I assumed that she knew him. However, I mentioned to her that I don't know him and he followed me. I was shocked and scared and I came to my room. After he left, Aunty understood the whole situation from me and apologized a lot many times. My point is this should not have happened, somebody should not have just come till the room, that is a breach of security. I also asked Sanjaya's sister and mother to speak to me once he is back, as he was not at home when the indident happened. I thought i will be contacted but I was not and when I called Sanjaya, he told me that he heard about the situation, that a guy was 'flirting' with me. No, he was not flirting with me. He'Stalked' and harassed me and there is a difference. The home is beautiful and I still stand how great everything was at Bentota. But as a solo female traveller, I would request Sanjaya to make it a space, more safe. No body should enter the premises of the house and even reach till the room.

Couldn't have a more warm welcome to Sri Lanka. Sanjaya and his family do everything to make you feel at home, give suggestions on your itinerary and simple practical advises. Allthough I had a little bit of a jetlag it was super to socialize and enjoy delicious breakfast and curry at night. Room was spacious with A/C and an big bathroom, not really decorated. Located at a beautiful river, not at the beach. Would defenitely recommend it, if only to skip Colombo (took me 2.5 hours)

It was a pleasure to stay with courteous host. Sanjaya helped us on the local site seeing and the get the taste for local cuisine. Its worth the stay with sanjaya and his family. Thank You.
