Eric’s place is right on the river and has a gorgeous back porch that overlooks it. Eric went above and beyond. He came to the bus station where we were getting dropped off to receive us, he coordinated a (good value) taxi to the airport on our check out, gave us great recommendations, and much more beyond your average expectations. Really great service. The place is a great location because it’s an easy 20 min walk to matka lake, but you can avoid some of the buzzing activity around it by having some separation. Plus the river is a whole separate thing of beauty that is of course not in the lake area! The place was homey and our room even had AC. Thank you Eric!!

The apartment was super clean and cozy and just 15-20 minutes walk to the place where the boattrips start. Other then that its a perfect starting point for hiking and I highly recommend to go on a hike, cause the region is incredible beautiful. Also the hosts were super lovely. I had a warmly welcome and got a lot of recommendations, felt kind of home from the very first second. Highly recommend this place when you want to discover the canyon and don’t make the same mistake I did and stay only one night.
