I was so delighted to drive up and see their charming home with attached garage and apartment over the garage! The planned community of the Village of West Clay is somebody’s amazing vision and combines neighborhoods with distinct architectural styles (Georgian, Victorian) into a wonderful walkable “village.” Pocket parks every couple of blocks, lakes with fountains, great small shopping and restaurant areas—very quiet, very safe feeling, very peaceful. The artist’s retreat apartment has two big windows at either end of the one large room, and two skylights pouring light into the center. There’s no kitchen, but microwave and coffeemaker. The bathroom is good sized—the twin beds are tucked into nooks on either side at the end of the room. Very cozy. Mark’s such a fun person—would have liked to stay longer when the weather is nice and enjoy his company. Very easy instructions. I most appreciated how responsive he was to my need to avoid air fresheners and dryer sheets.
Mark's place for perfect for a girls' weekend trip for my friend and I. It was just the right amount of space for what we needed and in an absolutely gorgeous neighborhood. There were a few restaurants we could walk to--we checked out two of the restaurants and food was great! We felt very safe in this area and appreciate the attention to detail Mark had (supplied toiletries, bottled water, coffee, etc.) Thanks for being a great host Mark!

My wife and I built our dream home in an architecturally inspired, resort style neighborhood in Carmel, Indiana. Intent on wanting to spend more time watching our children grow up, we built our house with an adjacent yet separate art studio. We opened the Art & Texture Finish Studio, I as the village artist-in-residence, specializing in residential and commercial decorative wall painting and furniture refinishing. Our studio played host to children's art parties, corporate retreats and annual Village Halloween celebrations. After years working in the estate homes within the Village and with our children almost grown, we recently converted the space into an Artist's Studio Retreat for guests to enjoy. Our family has always enjoyed staying at Airbnbs when traveling in the US and abroad. We have created our Artist's Studio Retreat to provide a home for our art pieces from travels around the world. There is also a collection of books on Indianapolis Architecture and an art cabinet filled with supplies to create your own masterpiece. Beyond a well-appointed and unique living/work space, we have found that Airbnb offers an opportunity to genuinely live "like the natives." Our sincere hope is that our guests take full advantage of the world class amenities that the Village and its 600 acres of parks, recreational facilities and shopping/restaurants offered simply within steps of your front door.
