My friends and I had an amazing time here! The hosts were very welcoming and gave us a comprehensive tour of the house and the property when we arrived. The house was charming and beautiful - the pictures did not do the gorgeous backyard justice - and very well-equipped, stocked with everything we could have needed for our vacation. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful if we had any questions and went above and beyond to ensure we had a positive stay. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to staying again in the future!

Ken and Fred were the perfect hosts of the perfect house. From the beautiful pool, decks, garden and hot tub to all of the conveniences (great large outdoor shower, huge washer and dryer, wagon and umbrellas for the beach, excellent location highly walkable but not too close to the Harbor noise), to the well-decorated interior and the hosts' excellent guidance on the house and the Pines, we and our group couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend!

Cannot recommend Ken and Fred’s home highly enough. A salt water pool, an incredible wrap around garden, not mention an incredibly well appointed kitchen, living room and set of three bedrooms. The perfect home to enjoy beauty and recharge. If you love Fire Island Pines but want respite and some peace and quiet — this is the place.

We stayed at Ken & Fred's house in Fire Island during Memorial weekend. We had an amazing stay in their place. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, we cooked, we grilled, we relaxed, we read, we had fun. Their house is beautiful and has everything you need. It is about 8 minutes walking from the pier area, in a very calm/quietish area, and just 2 minutes from the beach or the bay. The house is exactly as you see it on the pictures (and maybe even better), and the hosts will share with you several more pictures once you book. You will also be requested to sign a NY standard lease agreement. It is worth noting that Ken & Fred use their house regularly, so it is fully equipped (it feels like home) and also have some of their personal items like books or clothing. Thus, they have smartly labeled everything you can use/open and everything that is for their personal use only, so you won't have a problem. You will be also asked to do some regular tiny things (like turn on and off the water pond and lights or lower the pool heater); nothing major or inconvenient but just to remember that you will have to do it, as this is their regular beach house and they won't be there while you are staying in it. They also provided us with a very useful house manual, which will answer most of your questions about the several items (towels, TVs, sound systems, etc.) you will find in the house. Ken is extremely fast answering any questions you may have and will give you lots of tips and recommendations (sometimes even too many ). Both of them came to hand over the keys to one of us and explained everything about the house. They are excellent hosts and their hospitality was really great. We were very sad when it was time to say bye, and we are seriously looking forward to repeating a similar trip soon and staying at their house again. They are fully recommendable as hosts and their home is the perfect place. Thank you, Ken & Fred!

We had a terrific stay over Labor Day weekend. The location is great -- only 2 minutes' walk to the ocean, and about 7 minutes to the marina -- but more importantly we could definitely tell that it is a well-loved and well-cared-for home. The gardens are truly spectacular, and the house itself is immaculate. It is most certainly not a party pad / crash pad like many Pines rentals: instead, it feels like staying with relatives who love to take care of their house like it's a primary residence. When we had some sub-par weather during our stay, it was a relief to be staying in a place where we actually enjoyed spending time! Ken was very responsive, and also proactive with respect to considering what information we might need to know during our stay, from how to operate the hot tub to how to make the most of the sound system.
