We had such a wonderful time staying with the village and we are so grateful that we had this opportunity. We were only able to stay one evening, but in that short time we learned so much and were treated to incredible Quechuan cuisine! Sra. Valentina Sinchi was so hospitable and welcomed us the minute we arrived. Having the opportunity to spend some time with her and her children was an incredible experience and we hope to do it again!

I was unaware of how high in altitude this residence was. I experienced altitude sickness within two hours of arriving. I was only able to stay one night. The experience felt similar to camping, which I love. I loved Spending time playing games with the children and watching the weaving. As a female traveling alone, I felt unsafe with my sleeping room which did not have a locking door.

Extremely authentic experience. Food was good and exactly what the family ate. Hosts were really nice. Very clean. But not quite what I had expected. I love family stays... any this is the only one I saw in Peru. But yet I struggle... I thought the family would eat with us, and that we would help with chores etc. They ate in the kitchen while we ate in the dining room. There were no chores and I have no idea where they did weaving. Host family left for Ollantaytambo at about 9:15am. I had planned for 24 hours, but we ate, slept, ate, and left (40 minutes each way from Ollantaytambo). Only the teenager spoke Spanish comfortably. Checkout was confusing because they thought we needed to pay for the beds (in addition to food, which we expected). I would definitely recommend this stay to friends... but let them know more about what to expect.

A beautiful hidden village and a rare opportunity to meet and stay with a local family in a place with much cultural history and so many amazing artisans. Everyone we met was so kind and it was a humbling and enriching to see. The family who hosted us were so warm and generous. I think the soup our hostess made us was the best I have had on our entire trip! We felt very lucky to have been shown this special and magical place.
