Shane is really a nice host. He is welcoming, friendly and always reactive if you have a question or a problem. Even though the accommodation is a little rustic, it's still good. I stayed 3 months, so Shane booked the cleaner once very two weeks. That's an enjoyable initiative. The location in the forest is peaceful.

A rustic type accommodation but situated in a quiet location surrounded by kauri trees, only approx 40 mins to Auckland cbd.

The Kauri Nest is beautifully nested between Kauri Trees, Auckland and Piha Beach. Perfect place if you want to explore Auckland and go for a surf in the morning. The kids loved the big Kauri Tree and the Tree house. The kitchen is small and there is no dinning table. Did not bother us, as we decided not to cock and only had brackfast and macrowaved meals there. Shane is very friendly and easy to communicate with. We can definitely recommend the Kauri Nest.
