It was so clean and very private! Had all the amenities of home, except for wifi, which was a good thing! Nice to get a break. Lots of different DVDs for all ages, and fun games, were provided. The beds were very comfortable and made up for us ahead of time, with plenty of extra linens. The air conditioning worked beautifully. The surroundings are very lovely with flowering bushes in the spring. Lots of hiking nearby and a couple restaurants. Major grocery about 15 minutes away. The access road is built into the mountain and is very steep, so be sure to have a vehicle that can accommodate that! I recommend this rental for a family of 4-5 looking to get out into nature.

Great place to stay! Clean, beautiful surroundings, and quiet. Jay was a great host who gave clear instructions and was there if we needed him, he even had us a pizza and waters available when we arrived! Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a quiet, private, and comfortable stay near some great state parks.

Jay was extremely kind and easy to get in contact with. Had water and Pizza waiting for us when we arrived. Very clean. We were able to make ourselves at home instantly. Great atmosphere and just what a couple of bookworms needed!! Will definitely be returning.

Hidden Retreat is the best place to stay. I have stayed 6 times and I keep going back for the home away from home feel, the mountains and fresh air. Jay and Dorothy have created a wonderful and safe place to stay and it is also close enough for hiking and sightseeing. Dawn

everything is exactly as it is in the photos, jay goes above and beyond with the amenities. anything you could have possibly forgot at home is there!
