Pablo was extremely helpful. Asked about my preferred check in and check out times, communicated kindly and fastly. When I arrived, he gave me a tour of the house and prepared some brochures of Cartagena, oriented me on where is what. Also he told me what food to try and where to go which was immensely helpful. I tried to look online on where to go and what to eat, but always the colombian Cartagena came up, super annoying :D. But following Pablos recommendations I could see the old town, eat super good food in the hardbour and as he lives outisde of the tourist zone, I could see more how the locals live. Also you never know how it will be to share space with someone. Pablo gave me a lot of space, he was out of the apartment most of the time I was there, but was always available when I had questions. The neigborhood is safe (commenting on another review) but it took a few days for the locals to get used to me. Just smile at them and say hola, they appreciate that :)

Considering new place, new city, new country. Me an my wife had an amazing stay (20 days) at Pablo’s house. Very helpful, jolly and friendly host. I do recommend this place.

Pablo's flat is really comfortable and he's a great host. However, the surrounding area really isn't great and i'd think twice about staying there. Even if it isn't as dangerous as it seems it is pretty neglected, dirty and generally there aren't many amenities. It really depends on what you're looking for but personally I wouldn't recommend Los Mateos to anyone (the neighbourhood) as there are much much nicer areas to stay.
