Power comes from a generator from 6:00pm to 11:00pm, additional hours will incur on a fuel surcharge. Basic supplies are available at the town of Termales, within walking distance. The house was absolutely gorgeous and exactly as described. It's a rustic open-air home, with a path straight out to the beach, surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and palm trees. Life was simple and beautiful for the 5 days we were at Casa Luz - full of building sand castles, playing in the ocean, and plenty of naps in the hammock listening to the waves. Paradise.
Nuqui is a paradise in the Colombian pacific coast. Pier's house is perfect for adventurous families. Irene cooks amazing food for an extra fee. This wasn't our first time at the place, and we will be back.
What a beautiful, beautiful spot. Staying at Cristina and Piers’ home, with Irene’s cooking and joyful presence, was a healing experience for all of us. We saw whales sitting on the beach, and could hear them underwater too calling to each other. Irene is an incredible chef and an even better person- thank you.
Na de ongelooflijk positieve recensies van eerdere gasten hadden wij verwacht dat we hier zelf ook heel blij zouden zijn. Laat ik vooropstellen dat de plek, aan de stille oceaan, echt prachtig is. Mooie tuin, in het oerwoud, aan het strand, heel bijzonder. We hebben genoten van de walvissen! Geweldig! Het huis zelf was minder fijn: beddengoed (lakens) schoon en prima maar verder was het behoorlijk stoffig, beetje viezig, onvoorstelbaar warm en klam. Wij wilden de badkamer schoon maken, maar er waren vrijwel geen spullen (emmer, dweil, sop) aanwezig. Het meest jammer vonden wij het contact met Irene en Fernanda. Wij hadden verwacht aardige en gastvrije mensen te ontmoeten, maar zij waren vanaf het begin stug en bozig, vroegen om meer geld en voelden ons niet echt welkom. Wij hadden het gevoel op bezoek te zijn in hun huis. Na de tweede dag is dit in overleg met Piers verbeterd. We hebben verder echt fijne dagen gehad, Irene kookt goed, maar al met al veel geld voor eenvoudig verblijf.
Marvellous! The place Casa Luz is exceptional. The house is simple, but being next to the beach, directly in the landscape is a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. The cooking of Irene is recommended and the services of her son (Domingo) as well.

The house is 15 minutes away from the town of Termales, a small fishing village inhabited by some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. There is a small surf shop, tiny stores with limited groceries and a number of places to enjoy a cold beer. You can walk on the beach up to Arusi on the south or Guachalito on the north. Plenty of exploring to do, or just relaxing with a book in a hammock.
La casa se encuentra a 15 minutos de Termales, un pequeño pueblo de Pescadores donde habita gente supremamente linda. Hay una pequeña escuela de surf, pequeñas tiendas con abarrotes básicos y varios sitios con cerveza fría. Se puede caminar por la playa hasta Arusi en el sur o hasta Guachalito en el norte. Hay mucho por explorar, o se puede solo descansar con un libro en la hamaca.
The house is 40 minutes by boat from Nuqui. There is a regular boat Monday to Saturday, no service on Sundays. Express boats can be arranged for Sunday or any special trips you require. You can walk on the beach everywhere: to town, to the hot springs, to Arusi, to the waterfalls, up the rivers. We’ll be happy to point you in the right direction or arrange tours for you if you want.
La casa está a 40 minutos en lancha desde Nuqui. Hay un servicio de lancha de lunes a sábado, no hay lancha el domingo. Se puede conseguir una lancha para el domingo o para viajes especiales si así lo necesitan. Se puede caminar por la playa a todas partes: al pueblo, a las termales, a Arusi, a las cascadas, por los ríos. Con mucho gusto les colaboramos con la información o toures que necesiten.
