Guests between the ages of 18-24 are permitted to book on an exception basis only. In your inquiry please provide your age, reason for booking and who will be staying with you. Local guests are permitted to book on an exception basis only. Local groups looking to use the property for a party, gathering or other group event are expressly prohibited and your reservation may be canceled. Any guest booking this property must be staying at the property for the full duration of the reservation and is responsible for the actions of all people in the group. Bookings made on behalf of others are allowed for some unique circumstances so please inquire if you are planning to book for someone else but do not intend to stay yourself. Parking in the city can be tricky and is not guaranteed. There may be some street parking available nearby, but please be sure to read all posted signs before parking anywhere on the street to avoid being ticketed or towed. To guarantee a spot, you can use a parking app like SpotHero or ParkWhiz to find and book parking spots ahead of time around the city. Very simply, please respect my home and my neighbors. Please read these rules carefully and take them seriously, failure to comply will result in forfeiture of your deposit and/or termination of your reservation without a refund. 1.) No parties or additional overnight guests without prior approval. Noise disturbances reported by neighbors or police are unacceptable. 2.) Additional visitors are not permitted at my property. Only registered guests may access the property for the entire duration of your stay. 3.) Please ensure you have left the premises and returned any keys issued to the designated location by the agreed upon check-out time. Failure to do so will result in a $250 late check-out penalty. 4.) Absolutely no smoking (of anything) inside the unit or on building premises. Additionally, local law prohibits smoking within 15 feet of any entrance. If there is evidence of smoking, including odor, there will be a $1,000 smoke remediation charge. “Smoking” means inhaling, exhaling, breathing, carrying, or possessing any lighted or electronic cigar, cigarette, pipe, vaporizer, joint, or other tobacco or marijuana product in any manner or in any form. No marijuana, medical or otherwise, may be used, grown, stored or consumed on the premises. 5.) Please be respectful of my neighbors and be mindful of noise and loud music. Please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM-8:00 AM daily. 6.) Pets are not allowed at the property unless previously approved and pet fee paid. You will be charged $500 if you bring an unauthorized animal. 7.) Lockouts will result in a $150 fee per occurrence. Additionally, lost keys will incur a $50 per key fee. 8.) I acknowledge that as the primary guest on the reservation that I am staying at the property for the entire duration of the stay and responsible for the actions of all guests. If you are NOT staying at the property and booking on behalf of others, please contact us as limited exceptions are permitted to this rule. 9.) Local guests are permitted to book on an exception basis only. Lost and Found: We are not responsible for any personal items left behind. If you let us know what personal items you are missing we will make an attempt to locate those in our lost and found and have them shipped to you at your own expense. Please be sure to check the home (including all drawers and closets) before you depart to ensure you have all of your personal belongings. Please note: * To abide by all legal requirements and building security rules, you may be asked to sign a rental usage agreement that governs the terms of your stay, provide a copy of your official government-issued photo ID, confirm your contact information, provide a valid credit card with a name that matches your ID, pass through our verification portal and, in some instances, complete a criminal background check. This information is collected for verification purposes only and is not stored or otherwise used for any other purpose. * We do additional verifications using AutoHost after you book and we reserve the right to reject bookings that fail our tests. Additionally, you must have a good track record on Airbnb as a guest. I really appreciated Abacus’s quick responses. We really enjoyed our stay & felt right at home. I definitely liked the safety of the private garage. It wasnt an issue for us, but if there is someone in the Airbnb unit above, you will hear them walking and running water.
This home was honestly very very cozy and pretty spacious. Me and my family were very comfortable staying here and we were so happy to have such a nice host!
The Tri-Taylor neighborhood, whose name combines the triangular shape of its boundaries and its main thoroughfare, Taylor Street, is located about a mile west of Chicago's Little Italy. The community served as one of Chicago's gateways to Italian immigration beginning in the late 1800s, with "the largest waves of Italian population growth occurred between 1880 and the start of the First World War, and these immigration patterns created an Italian-American social fabric that would remain until the 1940s." Construction began on the Illinois Medical Center in 1941, which effectively cut Tri-Taylor off from Little Italy, and "in the early 1960s, ground was broken on the Eisenhower Expressway, which borders the neighborhood to the north, further disrupting the community." Residents feared that the neighborhood would be sacrificed by the "ever-expanding medical district and the expressway," but a "turning point came in 1983, when the National Register accepted the application of neighborhood residents to designate the area with historic district status."
The Tri-Taylor neighborhood is in the center of Chicago and can easily get you anywhere under 30 minutes. 10-15 minutes to downtown Chicago via uber or car. 20 minutes to downtown via CTA Blueline which is located 0.5 miles from apartment, easy 10 minute walk. Very close to other popular neighborhoods like Pilsen, Medical District, Little Italy and UIC.
