I have going to this area for 35 years on fishing trips. This is our father/son trip and we are pretty easy to please, but after the place i have stayed at for 35 years tripled its price i couldn't afford it, though right on the water i wasnt paying that much for basically a hotel room. After searching i found Archie's place, it was 5 minutes from where ive always stayed, and had every thing including kitchen and two bedrooms. Well when we arrived it was way more than what we expected, my sons and son-in-law loved it. The view, the room, just the whole place is amazing. They were talking about going back just for a vacation and even bringing their mom, lol. What i am trying to say is, i couldn't aak for anything more, and if as long as they dont raise the price so i cant afford it, we have found our new home. Last but not least, lisa, the host, is amazing. She helped this ole country boy figure it all out. Thank you Lisa. Just dont let anyone have my week, lol.

Awesome stay at the Cottage!!, this is my families 6th time there and we enjoyed every minute. Great place to make memories. Thank you Ms. Lisa and family, can’t wait to go back. Timothy Bone & family

Archie’s is a great spot on the lake. The house itself was clean and bigger than it looks in photos. We stayed during the holidays so didn’t use the lake much, but the dock and surrounding area were great for my two girls (9 and 8) to play and entertain themselves. As a family we enjoyed playing pool and the arcade game! Overall a very nice stay!

Very nice place. Very clean. Kitchen is a bit small but still worked great for 4 adults. There were plenty of pots, pans, dishes, silverware and cooking utensils. Lake Marion and the Damn are right down the road with several locations to put a boat in on either side. The lake the house is on is a smaller lake and very nice. We enjoyed a couple night sitting on the dock fishing and drinking warm tea and coffee. Very relaxing. We enjoyed sitting on the deck chatting. The inside was very clean and accommodating. Lisa is very thoughtful. I mentioned that I get cold easy and there was an extra blanket on each bed and on each couch.

Awesome time once again! Our third time renting, and Lisa never disappoints, very responsive, attentive, and friendly. While Fayz at the Lake is closer, we Found some great restaurants in downtown Manning, Porter Jack's and Main Street Grille. Also a great indoor fleamarket called Bonanza! Don't let the size of the kitchen at the cottage fool you, it is so nicely equipped, with everything you could need. I made the best spaghetti sauce in the crockpot, and frozen mudslides in the little ninja blender. Will be looking at the calendar for stay #4 next spring!
