Beautiful place! Stephanie cooks a great breakfast and there is no end of interesting things to look at in the house. Walkable to the business school and PBK hall. Loved it!

We stayed at the Sampler for a bachelorette weekend with 9 people, and it was a wonderful experience. The place was bursting with character (and somehow all of the decor was not dusty!), parking was easy, outdoor space was lovely, plenty of space for our party (bedrooms and common rooms), walk into town was ~20 minutes and sidewalks the whole way, plus walking across campus was beautiful. But the best part was Stephanie and being woken up by delicious-smelling breakfast each morning! Note: There is a tenant who lives upstairs and one in the back carriage house, so it wasn't completely private, but we had no issue whatsoever, everyone was friendly and we felt comfortable making ourselves at home.

We landed at the Williamsburg Sampler by happenstance when a different Airbnb we had chosen had not worked out and boy are we grateful that we did. Stepping into the Sampler is like walking into a museum in of itself. The walls are adorned with beautiful tapestries as well as paintings of historic people and scenes that add to your historic experience at Williamsburg. The cabinets are full of fine items such as German Hummel figurines and Wedgewood China and the bookcases are full of antique books that cover all types of major events and important figures. These items were collected throughout the years by the owner, Mr. Ike, who lives on the property and serves as your host...and what a lovely host he is. He is full of many interesting stories of his life, Williamsburg, and the Sampler and he also offers great tips about visiting the area. He is also hilarious and quick witted and my entire family enjoyed talking to him. We loved the house, but we loved his very warm hospitality even more. The house feels like you are stepping back in time, but the amenities are all up to date and amazing. The bathrooms are all renovated and very clean, the showers are great, there are TVs throughout the house and great wifi, and the beds are very large and comfortable. In addition, we were AMAZED by the breakfast. A full delicious breakfast tastefully arranged on the table with linens and decor arranged to add to the experience. We spent a good amount of time just relaxing in the sitting rooms, talking about how wonderful the house was. You also can’t beat a 24 hour cappuccino machine at your disposal. The house is easy to find and excellently located just a short walk from town and as long as it is still available, it will always be the first place I look to book when visiting Williamsburg. We can’t wait to go back.

This was a wonderful stay, the host was so kind, thoughtful and accommodating. The house is absolutely stunning, and the rooms are massive and beautifully and authentically decorated.
