John was awesome, great communicator and all around friendly demeanor. We loved staying there, the kids loved staying there and our dog enjoyed the dog park! Would definitely book again

Cute and quaint! Cozy little home with anything you could need to cook or clean. Nice area with a laundromat and gym. Would stay again for sure!

If you like living with mice, and bugs, and dealing with a host that is full of lies and deceit, Happy Acres is this perfect place for you! I had reservations from July 27th-August 1st while waiting for my house to be ready to be moved in to which John was aware of that being the reason we were staying there. The night we checked in, we had no hot water. I called the after hours line twice before getting a call back and the maintenance guy told me to check the breaker to see if they forgot to turn it back on bc the unit was just flooded. It was in fact flipped off still, so he told me it could take up to an hour for the hot water to get fully hot and it if didn’t, give him a call back. The hot water came back. No big deal, mistakes happen. But, it would have been nice to know prior to reserving that “cottage” that it just had a flood inside the unit. The next day, my fiancé’s foot went through the deck board due to it being so dry rotted. Thankfully, he didn’t get hurt. I let the rental office know about that and I also let them know that when we cooked and turned on the exhaust fan above the stove, it threw metal shavings everywhere. Kimberly from the rental office told me she was sending maintenance over and I asked her if they were going to be going inside or just fixing the board to the deck because we had kids there and we were at work, and if they needed to go inside, I needed to let the kids know so they knew it was okay because we’ve always taught the kids if anyone knocks on the door while we aren’t home, don’t answer it and don’t say anything. She said yes they would be going in and she also told me next time I had any issues that I needed to contact John directly and to refer to my welcome folder(which I already read and it states in there to contact the rental office), so I called and let the kids know maintenance was coming to look at the exhaust vent. Once maintenance arrived, they wouldn’t enter because we were at work. So I texted Kimberly back and told her and I never heard back from her. When we cooked in the oven, it smelled like a rotted dead animal. It was such a nauseating, disgusting smell, we were unable to use the oven to cook. I messaged John on July 1st and made him aware of everything that had been happening since we checked in and told him about the oven and exhaust vent and how Kimberly said maintenance was coming but once they got there, they wouldn’t go in and they left. John said Kimberly must not have been aware that maintenance isn’t allowed to enter without a legal adult there and told me if I was okay with it, he would go there with maintenance or my kids could go sit at the rental office while maintenance came and looked at the vent. My kids were not comfortable with that, so I asked John if they could come either Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. They came that Saturday and literally were only there for less than 5 minutes. The maintenance guy flipped the vent around and they left. I tried to tell them that we already tried doing that and it didn’t fix the problem, it needed to be replaced. You could look at it and tell how old and worn out it was. Well guess what? It still didn’t fix the problem so we just ended up taking it off so we had some way to cook since the oven wasn’t usable. The vent had to be on while cooking on the stove, otherwise the smoke detector went off because it’s in the worst location ever. Literally as soon as you walk in the door right beside the kitchen. Then on July 14th the wood paneling in the living room started falling off the wall, we noticed mold on the wall across from the bathroom and the wall smelled like mold/mildew, we found glue traps for mice, and when we pulled the bottom drawer out from under the stove there was tons of mice droppings. Along with little tiny black bugs that came out at night time. I messaged John the night of the 14th as soon as I became aware of these issues and asked if we could be transferred to another unit since the oven issue still hadn’t been taken care of and bc of all of the other issues and he responded and said he didn’t recall being made aware of an issue with the oven. I told him to look back at our messages from July 1st when we discussed the exhaust vent because it was in that same message. He then told me after speaking with his wife they decided they were shutting our rental down and to let him know when we could be out. He told me he was going to refund me for the days I had left and told me the rental office would be contacting me to pay me an additional $200 for the inconvenience and at first only tried refunding me $611 for the remaining 15 days I had left which I did not accept and I contacted airbnb. They asked me to provide pictures which I did and told me my reservation was covered by their guest refund policy under their travel issue policy and I could get a full refund but they needed to reach out to John first and I’d hear back from them in 24 hours. I ended up deciding to work out an agreement with John since he is a business owner and has renovations to do, and the second refund I got

We had a great time at Happy acres. The team was super nice, the cottage we stayed at was clean and beautiful decorated, the bonus is that there is a dog park as well. All in all it was a great day.

I stayed in Happy Acres during a two-month temporary assignment at Fort Stewart. I was allotted up to $94 dollars a night for lodging, which gets you a pretty mediocre hotel room with maybe a lukewarm continental breakfast each morning. Instead, for well under that price, I got a fully (and nicely) furnished two bedroom unit with a full kitchen, cable, wifi, guaranteed parking spot, and access to a nice gym on the property. It is relatively close to post, so for anybody on TDY or PCSing into or out of the area it is hard to beat from a location standpoint. For anybody having trouble with the wifi signal strength I would recommend a USB antenna. I got one from amazon for around $20 and my signal was good enough to stream videos and do any web surfing I needed. On top of the good price, location, and amenities all the employees I talked to while I was there were super helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I find myself in the Ft Stewart / Hinesville area!
