I stayed here 1,5 months. Overall, it was a great stay for me. I loved the quiet neighbourhood and it's 25 min walk to Shinjuku. The apartment was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small and regulating the water temperature was a bit difficult for me sometimes. There was a bit of a smell in the apartment, but I got used to it. The host was friendly. I will miss Japan.

Overall I had a positive experience staying at Kazumi's place. Although it is located in the center part of downtown Tokyo, it is very quiet and safe. It's close to the three different subway stations, which are easily accessible to any places in Tokyo. The closest subway station is just a 7-8 minute-walk from the apartment. It was nice that the apartment had a veranda from which one could see the Shinjuku sky scrapers whose night view was beautiful. However, the veranda faces other apartment buildings. Kazumi responded to my questions promptly, and when there was a Wifi problem, he came to fix it. However, there was still a slight problem with a Wifi connection: the connection was sometimes (not always) interrupted. The apartment slightly smelled like cigarettes. In the middle of night I sometimes heard foot steps and some noise from upstairs; however it did not bother my sleep so much. If there is a chance, I would like to stay in this place.

Strong cigarette smell and staining on the walls, cupboards and ceiling. Musty smell in the bathroom and the place generally needs some maintenance and cleaning (shower rail held up with duct tape). Upon raising this issue I was provided with air freshener which didn't help. Hopefully these issues are resolved for future guests! Despite this, Kazumi was relatively responsive and the location was around 10 minutes walk from the nearest train station and a 30 minute walk from Shinjuku. I'd echo other reviewers and say if you have a lot of luggage, get a taxi as it can feel quite far.
