Lake house was such a fabulous getaway - right next to restaurant/bar so not private, a bit loud at times - just trying to grill or sit out to enjoy lake views was difficult because tiki bar was a few feet away

The pictures do not do this place justice! It’s more spacious than expected and right on the water. Rooms are also larger than expected and the place was nice and clean. The deck is great and we loved the Adirondack chairs with hidden foot rests! The house is located right next to the resort (which has a Starbucks!) where you can use the hotel beach, grounds, kayaks and bikes. The staff at the front desk are super helpful with suggestions of places to go and general info. Someone else mentioned this, but you really have to bring all of your own supplies (trash bags, paper towels, olive oil, etc). The only other negatives to point out would be the lack of WiFi on the grounds and in the house. I was planning on getting some work done and was not able to get any WiFi. Also, while it’s nice to be located next to the hotels restaurant, there is a tiki bar on the dock a stones throw from the home. There was a “lively” bunch of bar patrons every night and being so close it was hard to ignore.

Loved our stay! The location was perfect! The place was very roomy with a nice deck right at waters edge. The only suggestion I could make is to make sure future guests should be aware there are extras such as salt, pepper, detergent, garbage bags, dishwasher soap... I have rented many Airbnb’s and vrbo where there is at least a small amount of these items. Was not a big deal just a good heads up. Will definitely be back again!

We were not familiar with Lake Wawasee, but this was the perfect spot for us. Oakwood Resort is right on the water with great views of boats and jet skis coming and going. Boats pull into the dock and moor outside the restaurant at The resort. The lake houses all have crisp, clean, white sheets and bedding; fully stocked kitchens, inc. coffee pot & microwave; bathrooms have plenty of bathroom towels, toilet paper and Kleenex. We were delighted with everything. The marina for boat rental is a 5-minute walk away; the resort grounds are lovely with well-maintained landscape; resort restaurant is great; resort has kayaks and bikes for guests to use, as well as a small beach. We are likely to return and have recommended it to a number of friends already.
