El Sol is magical and deserves a write up in Conde Naste! Absolutely stunning cabin with every detail thought about. The grounds are very peaceful and relaxing. I can’t say enough good things! I wish I spent a week there. 20 out of 10!!!
El sol was magical! The setting is peaceful and private with a beautiful landscape and sunsets that just keep on giving. Our home was cozy and colorful with intricate woodwork and amazing artwork, and everything you could possibly need. 10-12 minutes away is the town of Santa Elena which is great for strolling, with many shops and good restaurants. El sol does offer home cooked meals which we didn’t try but heard great things from other guests on property. Many options for hiking/exploring cloud forest - our favorite was El Tigre, with amazing waterfalls and hanging bridges that make you feel like you’re in an Indiana Jones film. We also really enjoyed the night walk. I can’t speak highly enough about Javier and Susanne, the magicians behind the place. They were amazing, made us feel at home away from home, and helped us create a schedule that allowed us to see the most of Monteverde, eat really well, and take home some priceless memories. It was hard to leave. Until next time.
Lovely property. The cabin was cozy. The optional meals were delicious and generous portions. Everyone was happy including the kids. We Will be back for sure.
Me and my group really enjoyed this place. From the pool with valley views, to the beautiful colors of the cabin, the beautiful woodwork and amazing breakfast. They really made us feel at home during our stay. The only thing we regret is not staying longer!

At only 7 minutes down the mountain from downtown Santa Elena lies EL SOL, where the forest and climate are dryer and warmer than in the nearby and famous Monteverde Cloud Forest. On 12 acres with stunning views and beautiful garden settings we have situated three gorgeous and cozy cabins plus an infinity pool with an original Finish sauna to allow our guests to relax and enjoy the most peaceful part of their vacation, being able to feel one with nature and with themselves. All in all, the much sunnier weather, the stunning views, our coziest and comfortable cabins topped by the beyond beautiful surroundings will make you feel much more taken care of and at home than at your own home. Most of all the attractions in the area are just a short drive of 10 - 20 minutes from EL SOL but the surprising climate difference offers an amazingly pleasant weather here with us. Con vistas impresionantes y hermosos jardines en un área de 12 acres se encuentran repartidas tres hermosas y acogedoras cabañas y una piscina con borde infinito con una original sauna finlandesa que permite a nuestros huéspedes relajarse y disfrutar la parte más pacífica de sus vacaciones permitiendo sentirse uno con la naturaleza y consigo mismos. Tomando en cuenta el clima mucho más soleado, las impresionantes vistas, nuestras acogedoras y cómodas cabañas, además de los bellos alrededores que te harán sentir más cuidado y atendido qué en tu propia casa. La mayoría de las atracciones en el área están a tan sólo 10 a 20 minutos desde EL SOL, sin embargo, a pesar de la corta distancia, la diferencia en el clima es muy sorprendente y mucho más placentero.
