In the apartment as a whole there was a wonderful atmosphere of creativity , teaching, working with kids. I really liked the guest room--it was uncluttered and light-filled. A pretty coverlet on the bed and a comfortable bed. Around-the world photographs on one wall. Clean, new-looking bathroom. (Well, the fact of an en suite bathroom was enticing.) Oh, and there's a nice little fridge. For those who don't know the neighborhood: Trees, parks, mothers with strollers, school kids, young professionals. It's not a tourist y area. I've been coming up for over twenty years, first because a friend lives here, but also I've booked other AirBnBs because I want to shop at a grocery store and be within walking distance of the Heather Gardens, Linden Terrace, and the Cloisters (where you have a view of the Hudson River and New Jersey's Palidsades--especially good for watching sunsets). And the subway really does take you to Midtown Manhattan in about 20 minutes.

Staying with Amy is like staying with family. She is the kindest, most considerate, easy going and accommodating host you can ask for. The room is bigger than most rooms in Manhattan and with a private bathroom too. I have such a great time in NY at Amy’s place, always felt comfortable, relaxed, safe and cared for. I especially love Birdie her doggy so much!

I spent three months at Amy's apartment and have got nothing but excellent things to say. I felt like family from day one, and the place was exactly as advertised. The A train was very close by, there were plenty of food and grocery options within two-to-three blocks, and the neighborhood was clean and safe. The room was large with two large windows that let in a lot of light, and having a personal bathroom was a plus. The whole apartment was clean and cleaned regularly. I highly recommend.

Amy is simply lovely, kind and accommodating. The room is very comfortable and very clean, and having a private bathroom with a shower is a huge bonus. We were there to help care for a new grandchild, and things were busy and a bit chaotic. The serene atmosphere in Amy's apartment and the welcoming room made us feel like we were in a home away from home. There are plenty of places to eat, grocery stores nearby, and a subway station right across the street. Just a great experience. Thank you, Amy!

Amy is a lovely human being, and was accommodating to us in many ways, even dropping keys off with our daughter so that we could arrive on a day that was less convenient for her. We were staying to be close to our daughter, who was having a baby, and Amy made sure that we had as serene a time as possible. The very nice room is very separate from the rest of the apartment, and while Amy was communicative and responsive to us, she also allowed us total privacy. We really could not have had a better experience.
