I was in Sun Valley for a work conference and booked this Sun Valley Airnbnb condo for June 26-29, 2022. There were many issues with this reservation. Among them the hosts did not accommodate me in receiving a key to the condo upon check-in time at 4pm. This is the absolute latest time that the host promised me the condo would be ready when I arrived at the Sun Valley airport. In addition, this was already inconvenient because the pickup spot for the key was in a Ketchum which was not explained in the Airbnb description before I paid for the rental. No keypad entry like the rest of the dozens of airbnbs I've stayed at. I waited patiently next door to the key pick-up designation in Ketchum for over two hours after being on a plane for six hours between two flights. After an hour waiting after the pickup time at 5pm local time, I had to attend a work conference that I was already four hours late for. Both Ketchum and Sun Valley are small towns and there are no taxis or ubers/lyft to easily go back and forth. I had to walk 10 miles with my luggage to Sun Valley. I called the mngt office to give them the option of meeting me in Sun Valley or leaving the key with the Sun Valley Inn resort which was where my work conference was held once the condo was ready. They said they were not willing to do that. Luckily the Sun Valley Inn had one cancellation that could accommodate me through the work conference. I've booked dozens of airbnb for work and vacation and have never had an issue. I find airbnb at fault for not properly explaining the process for receiving the key to this condo at check-in time which is overly burdensome on top of the mngt co not having it ready by the check-in time at 4pm when they promised. I find the hosts/owner of the condo at fault for not having a convenient keypad entry like the rest of the airbnbs that I've stayed at before, not having the condo ready by the time they promised at 4pm and being very stubborn about accommodating me with the key after the check-in time. I didn't have time to walk back to Ketchum and back to Sun Valley (walk 20 miles total) as my work conference schedule was very busy. The lady at the mngt office Alpine Lodging Sun Valley was also very rude. I also asked her to have the manager call me the next day when she was back in the office to discuss. I never received a phone call.

A lovely place to stay. Felt at home immediately. Loved the kitchen and eating area. Perfect location.

Check-in was a breeze, especially since I was arriving after normal business hours. They communicated the whole process clearly via email which made the process super convenient. You can’t beat this location if you’re looking for sun valley resort activities. Downside, the ceilings above are thin. If there are small children, you’re going to hear stomping. Not favorable conditions if you’re trying to take a nap or sleep, in general. I’m sure it’s not the hosts fault, but there was a mouse in the living room. The host responded immediately to help mediate the situation, but I declined until my departure. Overall, it’s a great location, clean and convenient. However, for the price I paid… the noise and mouse didn’t seem like a fair value.
