Dear Travellers, Jane is a great host with most warming hospitality you can find in Bario ever! Her place is the one is you are looking for a original long house experience and be ready to be feed with local Kelabit dishes prepared by her. Her place can host up to 10 pax. During our stay, they are renovating to add another bathroom which will be of great convenience for big group travellers. One of our enjoyed activities is to take a stroll around her longhouse and if you are lucky, you can see sky full of stars with enchanting moonlight. P/s the dogs around her homestay are friendly too! Tips: Her homestay has 3 queen bed bedrooms and one ( four single beedes) room. Theres a little convenience shop just beside her homestay. Walkable distance to Wind Chapel and two bars in the town!

My hubby and I stayed 5 nights at Bario Asal Longhouse. Jane is a superb host. She is very kind to suggest places to visit and things to do. If you want to experience the kelabit culture and a longhouse stay....this is the place. Jane tells us stories and history of her people esp those from her longhouse. Her food is excellent. The vegetables are fresh and locally grown. Some are unique to the place. Her toilet is modern. For city folks like us it’s comforting to be pampered with such amenities in a rural village. As it is a longhouse , there’s much interaction with the people in the house and their lifestyle. It’s easy to get to the Wind Chapel from her house. We walked everywhere and it’s such a good exercise. Be prepared with hat and umbrella as it can be hot or may rain (depending on the season). Highly recommended to those who want to experience the kelabit culture and longhouse lifestyle.

Jane is friendly, preocupied to make her guest feel confortable. If you go there ask for Denise, is an authorised guide, he is the best person to show sorroundings and tell things abouyt the village and nature also.
