Costa Maya oceanfront penthouse condo (Positano) right on the beach. Top (3rd) floor & roof terrace. Individual Wifi and excellent cell phone reception. Sleeps 6 persons: 2 bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen) and a futon in living area. Balcony access from living areas & master bedroom. 2 bathrooms, dining area, fully furnished kitchen: gas stove, full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee pot, blender, pots/pans, silverware & utensils. A restaurant is located on the ground floor of the building. The condo has a beach that is for the exclusive use of guests and owners staying in condo building. Beach towels are available in the condo. If you need loungers and/or umbrellas for the beach they are available upon request from the hotel beach staff. Food & beverage service are available from Maramao Restaurant staff on the beach. Rental of bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards are available nearby. There is also a dive shop located next door. Cell phone service is provided by Telcel. Also you can use apps for calling and texting using WiFi without any trouble.

El apartamento tiene una ubicación privilegiada frente a la mejor playa para nadar en Mahahual. La vista es espectacular. La decoración está llena de detalles que le dan un calor de hogar. Muy buena calidad de toallas, sábanas y colchones. Se nota que el dueño usa el apartamento con frecuencia. Tuvimos un desperfecto con el aire acondicionado y Olivia respondió al momento. Ella vino en persona y acompañó a un técnico que resolvió el problema en jueves Santo. La comida del restaurante es muy buena. La música del local de junto suena fuerte durante todo el día, pero es así en todo el malecón de Mahahual y no hay nada que se los propietarios puedan hacer. En resumen: una experiencia fantástica que repetiría sin duda.
The condo was PERFECT for a family vacation. We had one person sleeping on the futon, which was very comfortable! Nothing like waking up to sunrise over the ocean (for those in the main BR/Futon). The extra entrance for BR2 was great for people coming in later. The rooftop was put to very good use for dinner and games! Can’t wait to come back!

James'place is even better than the photos. The interior is decorated with great taste and lots of attention to details. He was communicative from the time we booked. Olivia is the on-site manager. She met us upon our arrival, and was very responsive to anything we needed. She is friendly and very helpful. Even though the apartment is located within a hotel and there is a restaurant on the bottom floor, it's pretty quiet. The views are stunning. I fully recommend a stay at James' place.
Wonderful place to stay. Host is very responsive and friendly. We have stayed in James place twice for approximately 4 weeks each stay. Highly recommend.

Mahahual (Ma-ha-wahl) is a small fishing village far south in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, located in an area known as Costa Maya. Among other things, the town stands out for its barrier reef, the second largest after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. It is a declared environmental protected area.
Here you can have fun doing water activities such as snorkeling, diving, kayaking, paddle boarding, sport fishing or bird watching. You can also do off-road cycling, between the sea and the mangrove, along the road that leads from Mahahual to Xcalak. One of the other things that you can do is visit the magical town of Bacalar or the various Mayan archaeological sites nearby. Or if you prefer, just relax on its tranquil beaches drinking a margarita or a piña colada.
In Mahahual almost everything is within walking distance, but you can rent a bike in a close-by shop or rent a golf cart if you prefer. We can also provide a trusted taxi driver's number in case you need it. If coming by vehicle, don't worry, you can park it on the ground floor of the building.
