This place is what you pay for. The host was very responsive which was nice. Everything you need is there at the house. Having a private restroom is also a really nice perk! You’re also very close to the subway since it takes about like 50ish mins to get to wherever you need to. The only thing that was a bummer was the people who stayed there at the house. Every time we would walk out or use the kitchen it was extremely awkward, and felt like we weren’t allowed there even though the host said we were allowed to use kitchen. Another thing I thought was unclear is that you have to climb flights of stairs and me and my sister are fairly small so we struggled bringing our luggage up. I understand we’re staying at someone’s house, but I do think the people there should be a lot nicer and more welcoming. We felt like we were walking on eggshells every time. I would also beware of walking at night in the neighborhood it feels pretty unsafe! Me and my sis were a bit scared walking at night.

For the price and location it's pretty unbeatable in terms of NYC. Astoria is a cute location and it's easy to get to Manhattan. There's some nice restaurants nearby and the neighbourhood is quite quiet. The apartment is very quiet and the other people in the apartment will avoid you, the host isn't there as far as I'm aware but this wasn't a negative for me.

We stayed in the apartment for 3 nights and it was very nice. In terms of the location I'd say 10/10 (very close to Manhattan) and subway is just 3 minutes walk. We checkout at 5am in the morning, and area was peaceful and safe as well. The room was super clean with private bathroom and balcony. Sonamla was very friendly, pro-active and easy to approach. I will definitely consider this place for my next trip. Thanks Sonam 🙏🏻
