We had a wonderful stay at Mountain Secret. The house was extremely comfortable and well-equipped, including great linens and towels. The highlight of this unique spot, though, is its position on the banks of the Little River, which flows north toward the New River right in front of the house. The river is truly a gem! Our time there was peaceful and quiet, and we enjoyed several walks in the nearby woods with our dog. One of the special extras was the fire that David laid for us in the huge stone fireplace situated in the next door pavilion. With the strike of a match we were able to enjoy the warmth and beauty of a roaring fire on a chilly night. Pretty much perfect, all the way around!

Can not say enough about the river house. If you’re looking for relaxation this location can not be beat. The views are amazing. Able to catch trout steps from the front door, walk the many trails, or just listen to the sound of the river. As we were leaving we saw a deer in the forest. We had a wonderful week and would love to go back next summer.

My family of 5 had such an amazing time at David’s place. The house was quaint and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. But nothing beats the location. If you are looking for a quiet secluded getaway with your own babbling river, then look no further. We spent our days playing in the river, exploring the property and playing games. Then at night we roasted marshmallows by the fireplace (in that amazing pavilion), listened to music and spent quality time as a family. We thought we would go out and explore the area more but we ended up staying in and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Thank you David for your hospitality! Our family had the best time!

Beautiful spot on the river! The hosts were quick to respond and were gracious enough to reschedule at near last minute when they could have just taken the money. I will definitely be back!
