After 7 years on Airbnb, this is the first negative review I am posting. We clearly communicated to the host that we would be arriving at 8:45pm. She responded and we pre-purchased firewood from her. On the day of the stay at 8:45pm exactly, she sent this message to us. “Hi! Sorry you were a no show. We enjoyed your fire.” I referred her to our original message and her response. She did not respond. I looked for other options but found none so we went to the location. She continued ignoring my messages. She was uncomfortably intoxicated when we arrived. She feebly tried to intimate us by staring blankly at us as long as she could. She spoke poorly about her other current Airbnb guests on the phone, loud enough so we could hear it. She almost fell into her own fire. It’s such a shame that beautiful land is wasted on such a terrible host. The camp site is right next to her house. The lights and her voice will penetrate your dwelling. This is not a safe place to stay. I reported her to Airbnb and sent them the screen shots of our correspondence. I hope she gets the help she needs. Truly. I highly recommend not staying at this location.

Carol was a fantastic and kind host! Her property is large and beautiful and offers multiple secluded quiet camping spots. A straight shot drive to and from Richmond. Carol's dog, Roxy, is also a 5 star host that shows up often to lead you around the walking trails on the property.

From the moment our booking was confirmed to her living send off in the morning, the whole experience was flawlessly amazing. I cannot wait to go back and experience the richness of nature. Carol was kind and treated us like we were at home. I loved it!
