The Duck House Cabin is located north of Taos in the valley of Arroyo Hondo with green pastures, horses and cattle and sits right next to our pond and the Rio Hondo which leads down to the John Dunn bridge and the Rio Grande where you can fish, swim, SUP and the Black Rock hot springs. Our home is on the property along with another Airbnb but far enough for privacy. The cabin does NOT have Wi-fi. We also give our guests a $20 gift certificate to our cafe Orlando's New Mexican cafe. The Cabin is not set up for full on cooking but has a small fridge, hot tea maker, toaster, microwave, electric skillet, blender, utensils, ice, coffee, tea, creamers, sweeteners. The cabin has an outdoor shower with a biodegradable soap. Towels are provided. The Chemical toilet is next to the parking area about 50 yards away and is shared with one other rental. You can make a camp fire next to the pond if no fire restrictions. There will be fire starter in the tin bucket. To help keep the cabin affordable for everyone we ask to do the dishes and pile all linen and towels in a sheet. Thank You.

If your looking for a relaxing place to stay and disconnect from technology for a bit this is the perfect place! The hosts have thought out all the amenities to make your stay comfortable like the heated outdoor shower we were pleasantly surprised with. The cabin is perfect for a couples trip as it’s cozy and cute and we loved the water falls and the pond we spent every evening on the porch. The included coupon to use at the hosts restaurant is also super nice the restaurant was so good I recommend the shrimp tacos!

The Duck House is an amazing place to stay. One doesn't expect to hear the gurgling of a stream out on the high plateau of Taos, yet that's what lulled us to sleep every night. A natural stream, with a pond above it, and the mountains looming above. Beautiful, calming, wonderful.
Great place! Thanks for the Wheeler peak base camp, it was beautiful.

We are located north of Taos down in the valley of Arroyo Hondo. Very quiet with horse and cattle green pastures and lots of deciduous trees. We are 5 minutes to the Black Rock Hot Springs on the Rio Grand River and John Dunn bridge and just down the road is New Buffalo where they filmed parts of "Easy Rider".

Hello. We are Orlando and Yvette Ortega. We own Orlando's New Mexican Cafe in Taos Nm and have for 23 years and counting. We love to ski and snowboard however the cold has caught up to us so we have been spending most of our winters in Sayulita Mexico surfing and hanging on the beach(thanks to our wonderful staff). Yvette is a true Taosena born and raised. I was born here but traveled with my Park Service Parents and lived mostly on San Juan Island in WA. In the summer we love to road trip as much as possible. We have one son and one daughter which are both grown up have moved on.
