The Pig Tail Suite offers a magical experience on Once In A Blue Moon Farm, an Orcas Island landmark since 1997. Enjoy 35 acres of farm animals grazing, forests, fruit orchards, streams and ponds, herbal gardens, and home to an abundance of wildlife. This is our third decade open for tours and lodging. Our special farm is a daily creative collaborative endeavor. Pack your suitcase with ideas and come join us soon! The Pig Tail Suite is an open floor plan on the ground level of a re-purposed barn. Vaulted ceilings and large windows fill the room with natural light. Step into the surrounding courtyard, covered patio, and gardens with tables and chairs. Cherry trees and other landscape plants provide a sense of privacy. Sights and sounds of the farm and nature spill into the room. Enjoy 'Barnyard Live' featuring Rosie the KuneKune Pig, the Alpaca duo and a supporting menagerie of goats, chickens, ducks and geese. The room features a queen bed on the ground floor and a queen bed in the sleeping loft with a “kids” corner stacked with classic books and toys. Kitchenette is equipped with a coffee brewer, electric tea kettle, full sink, mini-fridge and well stocked smallwares. 400 SF including the sleeping loft. Parking is a 5 min walk on a farm pathway. A luggage cart is available. The walkway is not handicap accessible and not recommended for those with mobility issues or those unable to carry belongings to and from the car.
